How fecking awesome are this band? They have just got better and better as time has gone on to the point where they are probably the best and most innovative of all British extreme metal bands at the moment.

Saw them at Bloodstock this year and they completely tore the place apart; visceral, violent and full of rage.

I think the fact that none of their lyrics are published adds to the music too, instead of focusing on the words you have to just focus on the music and the 'sounds' rather than words.

I wouldn't put a nath rack anywhere near my anaal.

I couldn't quite catch the third word of the sentence at the :21 second mark, was that scatological or scathingly logical?

I love Anaal Nathrakh, don't think you'll get too many fans here though

Saw them do a rare live gig back in 06 in London, back when they refused to do gigs.

Not sure I like the recent Passion Album, I thought 'In The Constellation...' was their finest work.

Oh and btw: https://www.redcafe.net/f27/ultimate-metal-thread-217188/index8.html :p

Took me a while to get into the new album but it clicked one day, more industrial than most of their stuff but still in keeping with the core sound

I started to listen to the first song...

They're a bit too mental for me.

I listen to pretty much all metal except black metal. Not my cup of tea, I mean whiskey of choice.

Classical, jazz and country have been around a whole lot longer. Metal and dance ages are rising.

Pretty average. I think with bands like these I can't see the point if there isn't anything radically different about their sound than from the bands - Emperor, Immortal, Darkthrone (the usual Norwegian suspects) that so obviously influenced them.

The last few years my main Black Metal listening has been to Xasthur and Blut aus Nord. Artists who do, or did, provide something that little bit different. The latter have new work out soon.

I think the 'Total fecking Necro' album had a quasi-black metal sound to it, and most of their albums do also have somewhat of a symphonic BM feel to it, but ultimately I wouldn't label AN a black metal band.

Xasthur is the shit though, Leviathan too. Love me some ambient BM
