An ode to Antonio Valencia

Always been a massive fan of Tony V, been so underrated his whole time here prior to this season's praise.

I can imagine the other players love having him in the team, he has the ability to move the team up the pitch so quickly and effortlessly, gives everyone a break and puts us on the front foot right away.

Long live Tony V.

Though he rarely uses it (probably thinks it is demeaning or something), he has the most precise passing with his left foot for a right back. Oddly I have found myself really willing the team to score when he successfully pulls off a left footed past. I think I've seen him pass 5 times with his left since he joined us, and they all reached their target.
More seriously, love his work ethic. And find it stunning our attackers don't know how to position themselves in the box when Valencia has the ball on the right, you always know where he is going to put it depending on where he is. Consistent, persistent beast of a player.

Agree with all of the above. He uses (when he does it) his left foot immaculately. Why he doesn't use it more will continue to be a mystery. I also feel that when he sends his crosses, our positioning in the box is all wrong.

He played very well under LvG at RB last season too, his game has only improved maybe an extra 10% or so under Mourinho this season, he's been class from start to finish, if he continues the season in the same vein and at the end of year awards... Pogba or some such gets more nominations for our PotY than Valencia? you know something is wrong.

Thinking about it, if he played for another team and against us, he would make mince meat out of Darmian at left back.

One of my favorite players simply because of his attitude, and he has extreme qualities that mark him out. His first touch, speed and stamina are world class.

Been saying it on here for about 18 months now... best RB in the world.

Also I'm to be thanked for his form... I got him on the back of my shirt 2 years in a row now!

YOU'RE ALL WELCOME

Was the reply to your prediction

He isn't, and he isn't anywhere close to being, and I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Of course his manager and team mates are going to big him up, it's not the first time a manager or player has come out with a ludicrous statement regarding a player:

We could go on, but we won't.

What's the relevance of that metro article from October 11th?
