Why was my thread in the United forum deleted?

It regarded the MotM selections yes, but I started a new thread to discuss it rather than in that thread itself. And it wasn't like I was calling him a dick, indeed I was looking forward to hearing what it was Ronaldo did today that made him think he was the man of the match
 
The one concerning Dipper right? I thought it was strange too.
 
maybe its one of those spelling differences between limey english and american english

A new thread to discuss a single post about player rating from a thread about player rating.

I'd have said the reason should be fairly obvious.

What would you have me do, discuss it in the MotM thread?

Am I just banned from discussing someones interpretation of the game in the United forum then?
 
hmmm I think it was a bit harsh, MOM threads are not discussion threads so he created a new thread to discuss peoples opinions

A new thread every time someone disagrees with a post in a MoM thread?

And people do discuss, at least to some degree, others opinions in such threads. Although ratings and MoM threads are a bit silly anyway give the team nature of the game.
 
I created another thread about Ronaldo when Spooney pointed out my selection in the motm thread.

No. But if we had a new thread examining an individual post that you disagreed with the forum would be full of even more rubbish than it is.

The fact that Dipperripper is a bit of a tit who who seems to be less perceptive about footballing matters than your average iguana is beside the point.

Pipe up here Sults, every week you're working through the MotM thread deleting comments. So what's the score, should I have discussed this in there, or started a new thread to discuss it

What's done is done, but it'd be nice if all the mods can stick to one line so I know for future. It's daft I seemingly can't discuss someone elses outlook of the game

Some people are "mods" of a fcking forum.So you know they are in a very high position of power.So they are simply using their power.


Anyways I think its ridiculous when mods act like it a fcking military school over here.Brad's reason for posting a new thread was completely valid as he couldn't discuss in the Motm thread.

Do they tend to simply delete threads on internet forums there?

It's true I delete comments in MoM threads. There's a simple rule for that thread, always has been - no comments. Makes counting easy for GD. Besides we generally have plenty of other threads discussing individual player performances.

As Admins/Mods we're all individuals Brad, and as such we're bound to call it differently. For me, the fact Geebs had already posted in the thread, and saw no problem should have been a pointer for the thread not to deleted.

I'd be nice if the individuals could agree on an official policy then Sults, because as things stand I can't discuss someones opinion in the MotM thread because you don't allow discussion in there, and I can't discuss it outside of the thread because it appears that gets deleted too

I wouldn't mind, but its not like I'm a :wenger: :) :D type poster, it's hardly my fecking threads that need stripping out of the United forum to make it better!

Anyway, you've been asked nicely in the past not to post random images. As I explained by PM, it would not have been an issue had it been the General forum.

Why whinge though?

I probably wouldn't have closed it but I can see why it was even if for the utter pointlessness of it (not unlike the poster you were quoting). We have all had threads closed or deleted but it is only recently that people have started getting all het up about it.

It's not a whinge, I'm asking why it was deleted, and am asking that you come together to form a policy so in future, I can discuss someone elses opinion of the game without it being deleted!

I really can't see how we can make an official policy. This thread is a good pointer we would never all agree on certain matters.

I'd just like to know where I can discuss someones MotM selections Sults. It's either inside that thread, or it's outside. At the moment it's neither, it gets deleted either way

Its surely not that hard a matter to agree on?

Because I'd be taking another thread well off topic then

Hopefully, I future I'll be able to create the thread as I did, and it won't get deleted, given there's nothing wrong with it according to the majority of the mods that have posted. I'd hoped to get that as stated confirmation here, but alas not. I'd just like to be able to post without having my threads deleted, I didn't think it would be so difficult to establish moderator policy!
