Amrabat - Man United Player FINALLY - #4 confirmed

Very excited, not only to what he can bring individually but he'll balance the team and compliment the players around him. He will get other players playing their best and bring out ETH's style. Just huge

Malacia is great for backup and money paid, if you expected more from him, that is on you. And Antony was not amazing but was decent enough, fee paid for him was because of it being very late in the window, it doesn't mean anyone thinks he is worth that much, again, that is on you.

I agree on Malacia, I think for the fee paid and his age profile he is a great option to have and will hopefully improve further.

Anthony worries me, I haven't seen much from him that makes me think there is a significant improvement coming, hope to be proven wrong but deserves a second season before too much judgement is made.

The signing we have made that I question the most is Mount, again, will give that time to settle and him a chance to prove himself. However, beyond his ability I just don't see where he fits in to the starting 11 when playing anyone of note.

So you think he is going to replace players that we have paid 125mil on in the past two seasons?

Amrabat will bring a much better balance to our midfield, we’ll see that pretty quickly and he’ll nail down a starting spot while Mount is injured. Mount will still get plenty of game time this season but we’re currently getting sliced open at will with the current midfield setup and ETH won’t persist with that just because we spent a lot of money on it.

Interesting watch.

strengths are definetly his tackling and passing especially in the first phase of play. Just dont expect much of him going forwards into the thirs phase. Will make us a better pressing team and is a good tactical signing.

If he’s in better form than Mount then yeah, he’s starting

It’s not about how much players cost… it’s about form. City have over 200m on their bench sometimes.

Antony is a good case study of where that's not necessarily the case.
Yeah we have loads of great RW’s on the bench. good point.

So you think hes worth 30 million with a year on his contract? How much do you think hes worth if he had 3 years on his contract? Presumably we'll have that situation in a year
Having a year left on a player's contract doesn't mean as much as it used to. The out of contract players that are signed for 'free' usually get a ridiculous sign on fee. In any case he effectively had two years left, as other have pointed out.

There are plenty of things to criticise the club for, but this transfer isn't one of them. The only criticism I have is that it was done slightly too late, but that's understandable seeing as we needed to wait until Henderson was sold and also see how much money we had left over after getting in an emergency left back.

I wonder if ETH will throw Amrabat straight in on Sunday - it would be a bit of baptism of fire but if he does well it will be a huge boost for his - and the team's – confidence. My guess is he and Rasmus will be on the bench

He wasn't registered to play on Sunday I thought

He wouldn't have been registered in time surely?

Not writing Mount of, just dount understand the signing for that position, hopefully I am wrong.

But at the same point, come on the last two summer we have made eleven signings, not youth players either, this isnt including several loan deals.

How many signings do we need do make?

I certainly hope you are right regardig Old Trafford rocking. On paper, though not perfect, if things slot into place and certain players perform well, to be fair I do think it could be the best first eleven we have had for a while. But forgetting too many ifs and maybes. We have spent not far from half a billion since Ten Hag has come in, personally not sure half of it has been wisely and looking at players that have gone to other clubs, I feel seveal others may show this season they have progressed further and we arent looking at a nailing it window next summer......rather another not offering champions league football and a lot of talk of another cull....which again we will fail to do.

Arambat for £10m at this point in the window as at first a loan is a good deal, but as you mention yourself and I have done on this forum a fair amount recently......we are very reliant in terms of progression in Hoijlund and Mainoo who are both young and inexperienced having big seasons

Shit ton.

Do you know how many players have left the squad in last 18 months? Something like 15 to 20.

At the beginning of last summer, we had 2 CM (McFred, DVB doesn't count), 3 attackers (Martial, Rashford, Sancho for striker/wide forward positions, Martial barely counts). Now both goalkeepers left.

Now tell me how many signings do we/ETH need?

To play on Sunday the player has to be registered by noon on Friday.
Hargreaves left for Florence few hours after noon. He was a Fiorentina player at the time. He won't be available.

I though the deal was done by 11am - papers seemed to have it at that time

Documents were signed in the evening, so they wouldn't have been able to register him noon (9-10 hrs prior), can't be done surely

Reguilón was registered

Interesting video. He looks terrible at heading, doesn't even try to jump in many cases. Also, his long passes seem to hang in the air for way too long.

On the other hand, he looks very good at tackling, he seems to be pretty good at making himself available for passes and resisting the press and his short passing looks good.

At first glance, he looks to me like he could be a good situational player but not likely to become a fixture in the first 11.

Is our best set up 4231 now when everyone is fit?

Mount out wide would be interesting, did he do it often for Chelsea?

Antony presses from front really good, think mostly that's why he is playing despite other parameters being shit.

Can see EtH playing Mount, Casemiro, Bruno, and Amrabat in the same 11.

Of course. If Antony continues being… Antony, I don’t see why Mount or Fernandes won’t end up taking his spot on the right more and more often.

Funny, 1 week ago, 99.9% of people here were crying for Amrabat. Today, many of them are not happy with him
That’s fully inaccurate. Where the feck did you get that idea? Read the thread and you’ll see there were plenty who think he’s not good enough based on “stats” and the erroneous idea that no-one else wanted him. It’s quite likely the same people who have reservations now.

Not necessarily Antony. He does a lot of good work staying wide, pressing, and because he cuts in so much it allows AWB to overlap or underlap because of his invert position.

This gives EtH and staff even more flexibility and there's adequate depth. McTominay can come on and focus on a few things and keeping it simple.

what an awful player according to the stats
