Its an utter no brainer to have him in central midfield. If ETH did get fired it would be for stupid decisions like playing him at left back. When he could switch dalot to left back and play lindelof at righback.

Both loan deals had a break clause, not sure if a fee prevents that. But there was talk of us pursuing loans that late in the window both because we are skint and have fecked up FFP due to incompetence, and to give potential new owners more room to maneuver in January.
Given he doesn't have the physicality required and is far from first choice, with a much lighter calendar, it seems logical to shift him out.

I'd like to see Hannibal at CM/DM, i.e in a 2 man midfield. Think he could adapt if he can keep calm. I'm wary that every time we've seen him so far it's been as a #10 though. Gore looks even more of an attacking player from the admittedly little I've seen.
For now I'd certainly keep Amrabat (unless we signed a DM in Jan). For CM, we only really have Casemiro and Mainoo. Eriksen should only play there in certain games and definitely not twice in a week. Mount I am not convinced at all will ever be a CM. McTominay should never play there again.
Gore is very good defensively. He is a # 8. He and Mainoo complement each other interchanging offensive and defensive duties
It is still crazy that we spent 10 million to loan him and then ten hag decides to not fully trust him and is basically 5th or 6th choice when everyone is fit, it is absolute madness when you consider eth must have known what he was getting and if he had the attributes to fit the epl because he actually managed the player!

It has been the case in that post Fergie era. We massively overrate any new signing, then when we get shocked by their actual form we turn upside down and slaughter them. From the start we shouldn't have overrated them, but we never learn, and we do it again with the next new player.
