I don't know if it makes sense giving an interim manager new signings.
Presumably his 'consultancy' role gives him a say in the future direction as well for the next couple of years at least, unless things massively go tits up in the next few months.

Yeah but the permanent manager doesn't have to agree with all of his ideas. And l don't see winning anything major regardless of who he signs. If we're signing someone Jan we better make it the kind of signing that would gel with any manager
If those signings enforce the possibility of finishing 4th, it makes perfect sense.
I think pretty much any manager will be grateful for us upgrading our centre mid options.
Not if the interim manager is part of a strategy to employ coaches that play in a certain way.
It certainly won't be Ralf but Murtough and Ralf as part of a long term strategy.
It's best to think of Ralf as our DoF acting as manager for the time being.

I'm not sure what problem he solves in our midfield, especially in a Rangnick system.
He's a box to box midfield with no outstanding quality other than his energy off the ball, in a sense already similar to Fred and Mctominay, a lesser technical version of Naby Keita. What he does have about Fred/Mctominay is that he gets forward better than both, Fred has been tried in that role lately.
What we desperately need right now is the second part of a Leipzig midfield, which is a Kevin Kampl. A player who has the same energy that Fred/Mctom/Haidara have but with more technical ability and is reliable to play passes under pressure. I'm surprised Rangnick hasn't tried Van Der Beek in that position as I think he would be perfect for that role, it would be interesting to see if Pogba will buy into pressing as he would also be great in that role. I doubt that given Pogba's contract will be up in 6 months and will likely leave.
I won't be very happy if we only try to sign Haidara in January as it won't be enough to play with the system we have. If there is one midfield from Leipzig I would love, it's Konrad Laimer, but he's just returning from a long term injury last season.

Tchouameni is getting more and more game time with France now and even Pogba said he was magnificent. If you don't like him then I respect this, but I think he will be one of the best over the next few years, and we should agree to wait and see if this comes true.
His understanding of when to push up and support the press from behind and when to drop back to cover the space in front of the back four is one of his less visible defensive traits, but it’s vital to his ability to perform his defensive role.
Tchouameni’s athleticism is also crucial to his defensive style. His long legs give him extended strides and enhanced coverage with his tackles, making him difficult to evade in one-on-one scenarios. His combination of agility over short distances, pace over long distances, and physical strength make him a dominant defensive presence.

No look nothing to do with whether I rate him or not. I just don’t think he’s like Kante at all. He’s b2b, that’s what he’s best at. Like an upgraded version of McT

A restricted b2b if that makes more sense. The other lad maybe has it in him to play a more restricted role I don’t know, but for me Kante is different

That's true we would be taking a risk he's not premier league proven however he could be a signing that works out.
I agree sometimes you need to pay over the odds to get that special player and Rice has been great this season for West Ham but will we get him for I think £100M that was being quoted awhile back who knows.
Feel like this stems from him wanting him at lokomotiv, I'm not convinced we're after him.

This feels a little bit like Harry Redknapp taking Nico Kranjkar with him everywhere he went. Haidara is a good player, but not the type of midfielder we should be going after to compliment our current squad. I would say Bissouma (off the field issues aside) is a better option (PL Tried and tested).
Not a single top Club has really shown any interest in signing Haidara, and RB are currently being scouted as much as any team because of the quality and value for money coming through the club. He has a dominant performance in him now and then, but so does Ruben Loftus-cheek, who will likely remain a peripheral figure at Chelsea before being sold to a smaller team with few aspirations. I think Haidara belongs more in that Bracket than a side trying to compete on all fronts.

Refreshing to see a midfielder looking to move the ball always with his first ot second touch. Nothing outstanding but that alone would be an upgrade on the speed we currently play at.
I think himself and Fred could click very nicely in games we are attacking in. Both play quick, have a final ball, happy to get forward and both have a good engine and happy to spoil. It’ll let us rotate Fred and also let us play a more aggressive 3 centrally in games we need to win the ball back and counter fast. I’m not sure we are in for this lad but the profile makes sense. I’d prefer someone as physically capable (on paper) but who can also go deep and control the game. Not sure of who that player currently is though.
