Amad off. There goes my interest. In the 20 mins I saw I've learned Rangers are totally rubbish and the standard of Scottish football is evidently as bad as I expected it to be.

Amad was poor on the ball and his workrate in defence was also extremely bad. Jota was getting so much space and time on Diallos side. I can understand why he was taken off. He'll hopefully come back better for this experience.

Amad has dreadful movement. When Rangers had the ball down the left he didn’t make a single run into the box. When he got the ball he looked afraid to try anything.

He’s a young kid but he absolutely shat himself in that environment tonight.

I honestly don't think you've ever seen Amad play before tonight.

He wasn’t very good but it’s a great test for him, it will do him good to get consistent senior football in a fast paced league. He should come back more adjusted to the men’s game.

What a silly comment

First time you've seen him I presume?

Absolute nonsense. I saw him make a number of runs into their box when Rangers had the ball on the opposite flank. Why make shit up?

I love Amad and he's got all the talent in the world to succeed but needs physicality and work-rate to go with it. Boy only has like 5 senior games played so far so it's still early days.

Still looking like a boy playing with men, can see why Ralf doesn't think he's ready for United.
Looked far more composed than any of the other Rangers players who seemed to jump at the chance to get rid of the ball. Some strange opinions in here tonight.

This will do him the world of good.

He’s not experienced being on useless team with no direction yet.

It’ll be the making of him.

I wouldn’t go that far. Kent had a better game than Diallo and he was playing the same position. Not that it matters. Shouldn’t be a massive surprise that a kid playing his second game on loan is a bit more over-awed than most by his first old firm game.

Know it was an Old Firm game, but this is exactly why he hasn't seen much first team football with United under Ole and now Rangnick...it's justified.

A great learning experience for him and glad he's out on loan. But also compare his performance against a Ross County over the previous weekend....he's had an acceptable start to his loan.

Lost the ball a few times early, then misplaced a couple of passes.

He was shit, but so was his whole team.

I rate the kid and it's good that he can make those mistakes there and not here. It's that simple.

The outrage by some to play Elanga and send Amad on loan looks even more silly rate now. Trust the manager a little. Nothing is lost by going on loan for half a season.

Stopped leaking goals after he went off, pretty damning
This is terrible analysis. Not only is the kid a forward, both thing coincided with half time

It's like saying we played better with 10 against Liverpool because we conceded more when we had 11 players on the pitch.

Wasn't completely serious... some of our resident Rangers fans seemed to think he was the problem :wenger:

He needs one or two full season loan move in my opinion. Nani is a good example that he had more than 70 professional appearances with Sporting before came to here at 21. In comparison to Amad, he hasn’t even reach half of that professional appearances and still 2 years younger.

Man utd really need Ralf to give direction to our transfer policy. 10m spent on Hannibal 2 years ago, 20m on Amad, 10m on Pellistri who may all go on to make it but ...we don't even have a proper midfielder for the now and we still have equivalent players to all the above in our academy. No point spending such ridiculous amounts for future when we're struggling to make top 4....seriously.

I don’t know who are more annoying - the morons bashing the club thinking he’s anywhere close to being ready to start ahead of Rashford et al or the eejits writing him off based on not performing in only his 7th(?) senior start during a terrible team performance away at one of the most hostile atmospheres in football 4 days after joining a new club. Actually it’s definitely the latter.

It's his first game. Amad is yet to power through Ranger's strong XI.

It shouldn’t be either/or for a club as wealthy as us. We should do both. We need to do both.

Big ask for Amad to step into an away firm Derby, but he wilted massively.
Hopefully be a learning experience for him.

Looked positionally weak, barely wanted the ball and seemed overwhelmed by the whole occasion, which is to be expected. It can't be easy to step into a game of that magnitude.

And for those saying the Rangers RB is poor, you are wrong, he is a very good RB and has been for a number of years now, and that pains me to say it.

Calm down, guys! A really poor performance in such a game is probably the best opportunity to shape his professional career. It’s upto him to learn and react. If he can crack it, he will make it here. Just be patient…

Rangers were utterly shocking so I won't draw too many conclusions on the basis of his showing tonight.
