Berbaclass
Fallen Muppet. Lest we never forget
I’m not making a generalisation here but anyone that doesn’t rate him has either not watched him enough or knows nothing about football.
So Depay is decent because Barca signed players to replace him??Barcelona bought 3 strikers in the past 6 months, they need to get rid of wages.
He was still their top scorer and is actually being chased after by the club Morata has played for the past 2 seasons and aren't in for his permanent signature this summer.
I don't believe that Morata is better at all.
I was responding to the 'desperate to get rid' comment with context if you're not following...So Depay is decent because Barca signed players to replace him??
Strange logic that one.
He's played for one more club than Ronaldo in his career so far.Why didn't any of those clubs sign him up for more than a year at a time?
If he was as good as you think he'd have found a real home years ago
He's my beloved now because I'd have him over the most glorified backup striker of the last decadeHe's played for one more club than Ronaldo in his career so far.
A lot less than Lukaku
And one more club than your beloved Depay.
I'd hardly say that's tragic, especially looking at the calibre of clubs he has played at.
Right you are sausage. He's my beloved now because I'd have him over the most glorified backup striker of the last decade
I'm done with this back and forth, get back to me when we send him back to Atleti next summer after his handful of goals for us

Whether you like it or not that's how far we (and the striker market in general) has fallen. He was being compared to fecking Lukaku the last time he came to England and the latter outperformed him. Now that he's even older he's supposed to become an asset for us?
Would have him on loan like everyone else to get a body in and nothing more
He’s nothing like Lukaku. He’s good at everything other than than the finishing and scoring of goals. Lukaku is like the opposite. He was being compared to fecking Lukaku the last time he came to England and the latter outperformed him. Now that he's even older he's supposed to become an asset for us?

Of course he would? He's a hard working target man with excellent hold up play. That's exactly what we lack in our forward line. Even if it's as a sub, it gives us a nice sub/rotation option to add physicality to our attack, an attack that is woefully thin on depth.Morata will not help us get into top 4 and we don’t need him to get into top 6 so I don’t really see the point. Go get someone young who can turn into a world class striker or prepare the ground to land someone in January or next summer.
We have had some luck in the past with strikers like Larson, Ibrahimovic, Cavani and now Ronaldo who were past there prime, but they were all world class and top professionals. Morata is nowhere near that.

You wouldn't want a player who starts for Spain, who has played for Real, Atletico and Juve? What has that Stuttgart player done on a higher level?Don’t want morata, would prefer the guy from stuttgart, is there a thread open for him?
According to some on here (one poster in particular) having played for Juve, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid is a bad thing, as it shows they all want rid of him (despite Juve being in for him twice, two spells at Real Madrid),You wouldn't want a player who starts for Spain, who has played for Real, Atletico and Juve? What has that Stuttgart player done on a higher level?
Never understood the fuss about Morata. Even when he broke into Madrid team under Mourinho and had couple of good games. Decent striker but nowhere near elite level.
That’s gonna be hard to do signing guys in the late 20’s early 30’s though isn’t it?I’d take him at this point. Let’s be realistic. We can’t attract the very best players anymore. Morata is a good footballer and this is a long rebuild. Will take us several years to get back to something resembling a title challenge.
He's a left inside forward from the Dutch league. May have good potential, may even be lined up to develop as a striker, but he's entirely unproven there. Ten Hag wants a striker who can provide physicality, hold up play, an aerial threat. Morata ticks all those boxes really well.Or spend the same money on a Gakpo wich is way more lethal and is 23 year old.

You sign a mixture of players. Can't have a squad of kids. And if there are no young talents worth it out there, then you go for an experienced guy. We were going for Sesko early as our option, but were quoted 50m... For an entirely unproven 19 year old striker. There just isn't striker options out there this summer. That’s gonna be hard to do signing guys in the late 20’s early 30’s though isn’t it?
