He’s back alreadyI guess ETH will just have to rush him back

He’s back already
He is off to Celtic apparently
That came out of the blue. I wonder if we will get a cheap backup to complement Heaton or if we will go for an upgrade on Onana.
How is that Suzuki kid that we were linked to last year doing, anyone know?
Definitely not. He makes easy saves look difficult and suffers from lapses of concentration which lead to him conceding hilariously bad goals. What do you guys think to Ramsdale? Aren't Arsenal moving him on?
He was Leverkusen’s starting GK for most of their Europa League campaign. What was our buy back clause for Kovar? He not getting too much game time, really had high hopes for him too.
He also played 4 matches in the cup and 1 in the league. 2 clean sheets and 5 goals conceded in those matches. He was Leverkusen’s starting GK for most of their Europa League campaign.
12 matches
5 clean sheets
12 goals conceded
Ah right. Admittedly I only looked at the league stats. Very surprised we let him go, his ball playing abilities are brilliant, his shot stopping looks to be ahead of Onana too. Surely keeping him to rotate would have been better than bringing in Bayindir. He was Leverkusen’s starting GK for most of their Europa League campaign.

Good understudy for Onana then?Looks really shite. Had a terrible Asian cup with Japan. Made an error in every game

Defender should have looked up, but i still think we could do with a better back up keeper to give some competition to Onana.
True but my thinking was there was probably a reason for this, maybe other than ten Hag simply wanting to demonstrate faith in Onana in his worst games here. I have seen a few games from him not at United and he doesn't fill me with confidence. Maybe i'm wrong, it's only a very small sample of non-United games to be fair. He's hardly been given a chance by ten Hag for anyone to form this opinion.
ten Hag literally played Onana in every game he was available for, from what I can remember.
They wont sign him after thatSo is he still off to Celtic ?
It has been super disappointing to see Onana struggle and freshly-purchased Bayindir not being an option...He's hardly been given a chance by ten Hag for anyone to form this opinion.

Not convinced this is a valid argument anymore. It has been super disappointing to see Onana struggle and freshly-purchased Bayindir not being an option...
That said, EtH sees him in training and clearly doesn't rate him, so what was he going to do - let somebody play who he thinks is garbage? Doesn't make sense, disappointing as it may be

I think his signing was an example of what we are seeing with the likes of Villa and Everton at the moment. We sold Kovar for around 7M and got Altay for a little less than that but because Kovar was from the Academy we were able to book it all as profit whilst we amoritized the fee for Altay giving us a lot more PSR flexibility. I doubt he has any future here and I would not be surprised to see us go with Heaton if we needed someone to cover for Onana for any significant period.
