Yikes! He's definitely not worth that.It seems he is staying at Bayern. Extension until 2030 for €15m p.a. So about £250k pw.

Sounds about right for a player of his calibre. It seems he is staying at Bayern. Extension until 2030 for €15m p.a. So about £250k pw.
He has somewhat turned it around this season after being underwhelming for two seasons. I like the guy (and his extension makes it easier to extend Musiala and Kimmich) and an adequate replacement is almost impossible to find now that Nuno Mendes seems to be staying at PSG.Sounds about right for a player of his calibre.

I was just speaking with my United head on. I don't believe that any player currently at the club deserves to be earning over £200k a week. I would not have been happy if we had signed Davies and put him on £250k a week. One after the other
Me either to be honest, I like the idea of going with young, hungry players with things to prove not players sat on fat contracts that we can’t shiftI was just speaking with my United head on. Davies just turned 24 in November. Is that already considered old at United?Me either to be honest, I like the idea of going with young, hungry players with things to prove not players sat on fat contracts that we can’t shift
But Davies is young? He certainly looks hungry to me this season, no? And after the criticism he got for his past two underwhelming seasons, he certainly has something to prove (and has seemed to risen to that challenge this season).Me either to be honest, I like the idea of going with young, hungry players with things to prove not players sat on fat contracts that we can’t shift
He’s just 24 but he’s going on to a 250k per week contract allegedly. It’s more that which would concern me if United were in for him. We’ve been burned too many times now and it’s not sustainable. What will he look for in 3 years time when he will peak?Davies just turned 24 in November. Is that already considered old at United?
Is this Yoro guy for 70 million a better deal because he is just 19?
Hasn't impressed me at all when I saw him

Like, I get your sentiment, especially in light of what's happening around Rashford this year, but I kinda feel like Davies is the wrong person to throw that at.
OK, I guess it is possible that Davies only performs as well exactly because it's the year of his contract renewal and he's giving 120% because of it, I don't know him nearly well enough to take a guess at his personality. But then again, what's the alternative? Bayern does not have another leftback that is anywhere near Davies' quality in hand, Guerreiro is a good backup but that's it. He's also getting on in years. So they'd have to go shopping, and either go very high risk with a talent, or buy a proven player from a club for big money - if they can even find somebody willing to come with their club willing to sell.
Davies' deal will cost Bayern about €80m if the wages reported are rougly correct. I'd think a new proven leftback would have been at least as expensive for them between their transfer fees and their wages.
Then he'll have 2.5rs of contract left and Bayern can either sell him or reconsider his wages. But for now, for the next 5.5 years, they'll have a very good left defender nailed down. He’s just 24 but he’s going on to a 250k per week contract allegedly. It’s more that which would concern me if United were in for him. We’ve been burned too many times now and it’s not sustainable. What will he look for in 3 years time when he will peak?
I don’t know what the alternatives are but back to my original point I’m glad that United aren’t paying that wage for another. We can’t sustain it and we certainly wouldn’t want him hanging around on that wage if it didn’t work outThen he'll have 2.5rs of contract left and Bayern can either sell him or reconsider his wages. But for now, for the next 5.5 years, they'll have a very good left defender nailed down.
And again, what's the feasible alternative that would have been less risky and/or cheaper?
Didn’t we give Rashford and Martial the same contracts at the same age and a few years back too whilst not having regular CL football ? To be honest though watching Benfica/Barca tonight makes me want Alvaro back even more as he’s been the best player on the pitch. He’s just 24 but he’s going on to a 250k per week contract allegedly. He’s a classy player. I just have a concern about his running power and paceDidn’t we give Rashford and Martial the same contracts at the same age and a few years back too whilst not having regular CL football ? He’s not the quickest but seems to have big strides so makes up ground quickly, his running power has seemed fine whenever I’ve watched him but at £15 million we’d be insane not to activate the buyback option as he pisses over everything we have. He’s a classy player. He isn’t creative enough to play further up. And I hear you about him stagnating. Was even worse at Bayern where he became worse over the last two seasons. Often not concentrated and lazy counting on his quickness and speed to bail him out. He is playing a lot better this season, so I am glad that he’s staying. The LB market is also not necessarily swamped with great players that are available.Going only by his canada performances, he's stagnated. He was tried in forward positions and did nothing. Marsch has put him back as LB.
He's not Canada's most important player anymore.
Saying all that I'd love him at United . Not happening now.
I think we’ll see that this is the transfer policy going forward. Players with potential rather than finished articles. Neither methods seem to have worked well in recent years but here’s hoping!Me either to be honest, I like the idea of going with young, hungry players with things to prove not players sat on fat contracts that we can’t shift
As it should be and was under Sir Alex for the most part, how many finished articles did he bring in ? Cantona, RVP , Veron, VDS ? Maybe a few in the 80’s that I’m forgetting but for the most part it was players on the cusp or with massive potential who were hungry to improve and win.I think we’ll see that this is the transfer policy going forward. Will be interesting to see if that was a contract-renewal-season performance or if he's really rediscovered his stride this season. He isn’t creative enough to play further up. As long as he's not going to Madrid on a free. Great for Bayern. It seems he is staying at Bayern. Extension until 2030 for €15m p.a. So about £250k pw.
It is a very warranted fear. I am still hopeful though and it also makes it 99% likely that his best buddy (Musiala) extends which therefore leads to Kimmich extending as well. Will be interesting to see if that was a contract-renewal-season performance or if he's really rediscovered his stride this season.

And also: who could even be his replacement? The LB market is rough.
Not surprised, every player and their agent seems to use us to get a new contract.Signed a new deal at Bayern. Can be closed.
£250k per week on a free is super reasonable. We're paying more than that for De Ligt, for example (£200k a week plus £8M a year in amortized transfer fee). He’s just 24 but he’s going on to a 250k per week contract allegedly. Rather Real than United. United was never a serious destination for him.Not surprised, every player and their agent seems to use us to get a new contract.
