Yep, that's one mismatch, pace wise at least. Although Sanchez cutting onto his weaker foot isn't quite ideal but him and Aguero can interchange well and that would cause some definite disruption.

Very much my point, it wouldn't be too different to playing Beckham in that role, i.e. bleezy pretty much walks through Marty's midfield.
Can't really come to a decision here, marty's front two with the midfield support are too hot to handle for Mellberg (you know I love the man to bits but hes against a special duo) and Toure, it's not just two great CFs but an amazing partnership which should get extra credit. As I said Yaya should be having a nice game and he's a match winner if he's allowed good freedom.
On the other hand, Fabregas also has tremendous space to operate with a lot of class up front, not quite sure what VdV is adding as Cesc like to advance a lot and takes care of much of the playmaking but with Aguero and Sanchez as outlets it will produce goals.
Can go either way really, in set pieces Marty has a clear edge, which is something I look at in tight games.

Going for Bleezy. I just don't see Marty's midfield working to expose Bleezy's soft defence whereas I see Bleezy creating a lot and with Aguero he'll put them away

My team woth the exception of barnes has fantastic energy....malouda will not run all game, cesc isn't that hard a worker despite his ability with the ball at his feet.

The set piece edge is something which pops up randomly, but never consistently. Think it's a good shout here.
Ferdinand and shearer should be getting a lot of credit here too. id rate them higher than Cole and Yorke, at least since they are taken at their time of partnership, and they'll guarantee goals in this game and who they're up against here.
Not overly convinced with that midfield behind them, however.
On the flip side, Harte has a lot to do with Barnes in that slightly inside role. Especially with the movement of the front 4 for bleezy

Completely agree. Mentioned it in our game too with Campbell, Desailly, Saha, Ronaldo and Gilberto....didn't really drive it home though, especially considering Ronaldo and Juninho will draw fouls quite often. Noted for next game

Marty has Terry, Bruce and Cech which is unbelievable back 3 of some of the best individuals ever to play in their positions in this league. He also has the best proven attacking partnership in the draft so far. At first glance, it looks a no brainer.
With that midfield 3 and those fullbacks though, Bleezy's team is going to own the football in this game. I reckon 60-65% possession.
As good as Bruce and Terry are (very good), I actually think Aguero is one of the worst forwards they could face. Both would probably list pace and mobility as the weakest part of their game and the little Argentine could really work them here. Sanchez is obviously really dangerous but I think Malouda is a really good call here. His ability to get into good positions in the box will cause all sorts of problems and at his peak, he brought a real goal threat.
But I still come back to the fact that in Terry, Bruce, Ferdinand and Shearer, Marty has 4 of the top 5 picks on the pitch. Do better individuals and a superb attacking partnership beat a brilliantly put together team which will play much better football, but has a soft underbelly? I can't decide yet.

I always consider set pieces a very good route to goal. In tough games having the superior set pieces or aerial dominance in general will win you loads of games.
Exactly what I thought of when I saw the tactics.Been a busy day at work but it's closer than when I last checked in the morning...
Because they don't work together, have a right midfielder protecting them, and are up against one of the most explosive strikers in Prem history. They are great defenders individually, but they don't complement each other at all and are not helped at all by the midfield.
Cech only conceded 15 in 2004/05, but he had Makelele and Carvalho. You don't have a Makelele type - you have a right mid being tasked with more than he can handle. And you don't have a Carvalho - you have precisely the type of defender Terry wouldn't work well next to. Your team is very wide open here, and there's enough individual quality in my side from Fabregas up to take advantage of that.
With a poor midfield and a defence that will struggle up against exactly the kind of striker they don't want to face, I'm not sure how you can take control of this game and win.
Think this game pretty much comes down to who would score the most goals...both sides have faults..

Went with Marty. A solid all round team, nice balance (apart from Parlour who needs upgrading asap) with one of the best striker forces you could ask for.

Unbelievable! great match. I was 4-1 up thinking its all going rosy then 10-6 down then 12-10 up....fair draw if you ask me.
