All time ODI Draft

How the hell is crappy not in the final? Wow. Just wow. Viv and Kallis v Lamb and Shiv in terms of runs at 4 and 5 is a no brainer. Shiv might be decent at staying around but by feck it sometimes takes him ages to get going. Never rated that fat little dumpling Lamb anyway, only played for England as he wouldn't have got in in his native country. Also Warney is better than Murali (even after the shoulder op) in terms of variation and can turn in on right angles in any conditions.

Edit: looking back on that SF thread it says 10 a piece. Don't tell me the old integrity coin toss was used? To redress the balance of this travesty I shall be voting for KM, and even would if he was putting 11 Mcihael Goodman's out.

To be fair, I did defend him a lot. I don't go after players unless I think they are completely overrated (Malinga etc.)

You are though. If people read my posts, I'm usually objective other than somebody I don't like. I didn't even bother arguing against the likes of Viv/Kallis and some players even in the last game.

The only thing you argued against was when he said that Chanderpaul was 100 times better than Kallis. It'd have been sheer stupidity to not argue against that. As I said, easy to take the high road when you've got someone else to do the dirty work.

Did it in the last game too, when he made remarks? Think it was Ambrose wouldn't be effective or something. Go through the threads, or my football drafts. Same strategy. Can't argue all day.

PS. Kallis was a much better ODI all rounder than Imran :)

Different roles I think. Kallis was a batting all rounder and Imran was a bowling all rounder.

Agree 100%. I was just trying to rile you up as you seemed to be getting annoyed easily. I thought it was very clear we would go for Kallis (6th bowler + the middle order bat I needed) and was delighted you didn't block him. I expected you to go for Warne, but had to block Viv to not take the chance.

Why didn't you upgrade Ajmal? He is an eyesore there.

Edit: Actually Ajmal or middle order bat. Imran is a lower order bat really
 
Watson seemed to be hated around here, pretty sure I've lost many votes in this draft due to the fact nobody seemed to rate Watson as a player.

Not a chance I wasn't blocking Viv mate. Too big a risk to take.

I didn't actually think you'd take Kallis. A slow run accumulator is the alst thing your middle order needed.
 
Take out Andre Russell for Watson.

Russell is a bits and pieces cricketer, at least peak Watson was a good contributor in both facets.

Not so good you're right but his qualities still make him a better bet than Russell.

Russell has no place this far into an all time draft.
 
@KM I agree that the 100 times comment was over the top but the context is important. Crappy was saying that in case we lose 3 wickets and get to shiv then we can't build an innings which is obviously not true. In such a situation shiv is someone who would be more experienced than anyone else as he has done it multiple times.

As for bias obviously everyone is going to have bias. No one is going to say 'yeah his team is better so I'm not going to win.' Obviously We are going to try and bring the other team down. You did it too vs Samid too when you Called his bowling attack rubbish. We all say stuff Like that. Do you think if crappy had Murali and we had warne he would say 'yeah warne is better'? Of course not. He would make the same arguments we made and we would make the same arguments he made.

It's also funny that people want to compare Viv and Kallis vs shiv and lamb and say that we aren't good when there are 8 other players most of whom are superior. Like Akram, Dhoni Hayden Roberts and all. (Taylor cairns vs Dhoni Flintoff is a mismatch). Also funny to say that Murali can't spin in any pitch. I guess he was lucky to manage 534 wickets in ODI what with his inability to spin the ball.

going loco is a bit much? there were maybe 3-4 posts about the whole incident. Most of the cricket threads would be similar. Later posts about shiv were people writing him and Lamb off and us defending them. If thats going loco, most threads would have similar series of posts and you did similarly for yuvi vs jaddu in one of your games too? To be honest, last game, there were biased comments from both sides. Like the "expecting Kohli to fall early to pace". This is someone who holds good record in most countries and will probably be one of the batsmen of the era. And he was being made out as if he is Vinod Kambli 2.0 struggling to a bit of pace. Its what people do. Frankly, i think the game was this close because people looked objectively and voted not listening to any of our views :p

yeah i told this before too. the 100 times thing was over the top i agree. If you remember I was reseponding to " if opposition loses their top order early, Lamb/Chanders are liable to sink the whole ship early and leave Dhoni/Flintoff too much to do". Surely thats a situation tailor made for chanderpaul? The 100 times was more due to annoyance than anything at having to defend something chanderpaul is best at. As I said, I do like Kallis.
