Illegal action and currently being banned was the reason we didn't go for him much earlier when he considered him. Wasn't sure how to treat and judge someone who is banned currently, for action, in drafts.
I checked him. He had less than 50 games.
But there are a couple players here who were banned at some stage for an illegal action as well. Couple were questioned over their action over time. Shouldn't they be just as culpable as Narine then ? There has to be some sort of standard/consistency when judging such players. I mean if a player A is treated one way, Player B should not be treated any differently by that same person.
He has 55.
Someone like Ajmal is now cleared and I guess he hasn't played much since then and maybe is not as effective. So that could go against the team who picked him. We basically wanted to avoid this unnecessary hassle.

Being questioned is different to being definitely caught, tbf. For example, I rate Murali higher because I think he had to struggle through a lot of shit accusations that were thrown at him. I don't rate players who were proven to have suspect actions, or PED abuse for that matter, and haven't proven they can perform at the same standard clean.
I thought Graeme hick would be picked. For me he is better than Ian Bell. Also Navjyot Siddhu, Ian Healy
Yeah, after Ajmal was cleared, he changed his action and he has actually struggled ever since. So then how do to judge him.
Came close to picking Sidhu, but he would never get into the team ahead of Haydos and Stewart (keeping). Thought it was best to pick some player who has an actual chance to get selected.
It's a travesty to choose newlands over wanderers. And Karachi over Lahore.
All the grounds I chose from each country in test draft are the ones which have hosted the maximum no. of test matches in that country. I am not responsible if those same stadiums get copied for ODIs too!
Are we using the same metrics as last draft iIn that the stadiums are more of an indicator of how the pitch and conditions are?
