He was involved in the other semi-final. Semi-finalists were banned from voting in them.

No worries, he will get a new home, one that spent the entire first half of this game playing in a certain way to see how likely it was that he could be accommodated properly.

Cutch has an awesome team though. Very little to have a go at bar a tactical brainfart which I'm much much more likely to have.

Wasn't giving much away earlier but imo Antohan deserved the win here. He had a much more solid centre midfield, 2 outstanding fullbacks to TITO's 1, and Pele of course. His team just appeared to be more functional from front to back, despite perhaps a lack of genuine width.

Taking Garrincha off was a terrible move from a voting perspective, as the shift in votes since confirmed. Very unlucky to lose after being ahead for so long.

Unlucky Tito, thought you deserved to win and you conducted yourself well throughout the match. Those subs seemed to lose you it which was strange as it made you so much more solid, maybe you could have banged on about Enrique and Alberto to emphasise how good they were.

I did mention the Dan vote earlier and had been reminding him he didn't quite have the slender lead he kept going on about but clearly he wasn't getting it.

The last thing I wanted was to put it in black and white earlier and suddenly start yet another shitstorm! :lol:

AH right I get it now. When I was going on about me having a 4 or 5 vote lead, and you were saying no, really it was a lot closer than I realised.

Agree with the sentiment and I would certainly have preferred to have a much more civil and constructive one-on-one exchange from the off.

I wasn't going to vote at all. Had asked Aldo to put his vote in if needed to avoid a weird situation where the scoreline showed the other team going through but he had to go offline.

Tight game, good thing you didn't go for Ronaldo with hindsight although Garrincha clearly seems to be a big draw despite all the flaws I could see in that.

Cheers mate. Yeah, gutted with the subs. Perhaps I should have built them up more but my advice to anyone in future drafts is if it aint broken don't fix it. Playing the defensive game doesn't work.

Garrincha was massive for me mate. If Maradona wasn't available I'd recommend you take him (I know you have Pelé) As soon as he left the pitch my team fell apart.
 
I know how it feels TITO. Brwned did the same thing against me, being behind all game just to go and grab the last minute winner. I still find myself waking up in the middle of the night, thinking how different things could be right now, small margins!

Don't I know it, two drafts, two lost finals, always with the better defence and that includes the questionable honour of being the finalists not to be able to point out how fecking poor Gary Kelly was :lol:

And I know it also, in the newbies final I went for a better defence only to put Ronaldo (brazil) on the bench and that cost me the game afterwards I feel.

I've thought about it but there's no way I could get away with playing Garrincha in a flank with Nilton Santos and George Best. That flank requires serious thought and Garrincha is not the answer.
 
Fair enough. As you can tell, I've become a Garrincha fanboi whilst researching in this draft. Love him!

Yeah, I was happy with my team but some things I regret. Bobby Moore did not seem to be a vote winner and he was my 2nd round pick, could have done better there I suppose. Also when I picked Desailly I had a long time thinking if I should go with him or secure Vieira for my midfield. Easy to say afterwards, but as always the draft is really fun.

Yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing. I also have regrets on picking Eto'o as third choice. Got caught up in the whole "get someone in from a smaller nation" plan and thought no way would he or Weah survive til the end. Nevermind!

I have a better story for you. One up against Brwned in the 50s final, nothing happening so with fifteen minutes to go I randomly go into a thread about Ramsey being asked whether Shawcross should be allowed to play for Wales. I couldn't care less about the topic but posted that he should grow some balls and get on with things.

Random Arsenal fan (Donado) gets pissed off, bumps into the final thread and casts the vote that draws it in the final fecking minute :mad:. Then I agree for Polaroid to have the casting vote as the only manager not to have voted (despite knowing full well he liked Brwned's team better and it having his early picks from the draft!).

Yep, have history with own-goal occasions :lol:
