All ticket/travel information thread - 2024/25 edition - Ticket Purchasing FAQ in OP. Please read it and be careful purchasing tickets

Mine just worked.

Errors on the first two selfies but then it worked

Yeah I managed to get past that stage and the ID check complete. I’ve read you have to wait an hour for it to verify and then we can renew online

Have you managed to renew yet?

Edit - ID check was inconclusive apparently  I've just reattempted with passport rather than driving license

I haven’t tried to renew yet.

I’ve got a reminder for the day before deadline.
Can’t have those pesky dickheads having my money too early. They might fritter it away

EDIT - how long did your confirmation take to come through?? Been an hour since I did mine and nothing through yet

I didn't actually get any notification about it being verified but it took under 2 hours for mine. If you go to ticket site - Season Tickets, select ticket then "Renew". When you get to the payment/checkout page it stops you from completing the purchase as "ID check needed" - but that message is now no longer there for me so assume it's been verified.

And agree with you re renewing btw - won't be doing mine now but just to know I can do when needed!

Have we ever had to do this ID check before? I can't recall doing one all these years. Looks like a lot is changing and changing.

All part of the master plan to reduce the amount of season tickets, season ticket holders don’t produce enough money, my season ticket in the south stand is one of those being moved , there isn’t an alternative ticket as good as this, 8 rows behind the home dug out on the half way line. These are tickets just below the already existing exec seats and Sir Jim’s Directors box and I’m sure these will be made into premium exec seats.
I saw one exec ticket in the South advertised for Lyon at £1k , yet for the City game it’s £1499, £500 more, what on earth do you get for that !!

Mine appears to have worked. Can get through to the payment page where I select my card option.

Have clicked the option to the later though

It's actually sad what's going on. Full corporate machine mode in operation. Us regular fans can go do one. Just think of how easy ticketing was just before Covid. Now it's an unmitigated mess. And we don't even have onfield success as consolation.

It's actually the page after that where it says "Review Order" - I had an error message there saying "ID verification failed - due to name discrepancy" when sorting my brother in law's - they think it's because his middle name was on his ID and isn't on the account () - anyway they sorted it for me over the phone so can now renew when needed.

For any cup season ticket holders like me who are looking to get a full ST, I received an email which says:

Due to stadium redevelopment, we have a number of Season Ticket holders who have to relocate. For this reason, we do not anticipate being able to accommodate any new sales for the 2025/26 season.

Could obviously change depending on renewals, but thought I’d share either way.

Sounds like the death of new season tickets then

Interestingly, one thing city, and presumably implemented by our new big before his defection, put in place was that they would not be issuing any new STs.

All STs at city yet are not renewed go on sale to other fans. This will be our future

Ah not good. Expecting my cup season ticket to go next season too if we’re not in Europe.

Hi guys,
Trying to source a bit of help here. I have been to old trafford most years but this is my first time with the new ticketing approach.
I have created one account with two memberships (one for me and one for my daughter) and had tickets forwarded for the city game.
While on the website i can see two assigned tickets, my app only shows one. As the app is likely the place i bring up the qr code for the scanner, im not sure what i need to do.
There is no obvious way on the app to change membership.
Has anyone had this issue? What is the approach to getting the two tickets on the one app? Or am i missing something?

When the app was released, we needed to add another layer of membership (other than the Strong or Standard Membership).

This was called ‘App Ticketing’.

So if you have your ticket/membership
And your family / friend has a ticket/membership,

You need: App Relationship Set Up to see each others tickets (you side swipe to get to the other ticket).

The QR code doesn’t become live until 3 hours before the game. So you may see it blanked out.

No , screenshots don’t work , but you can take a photo of the QR code and WhatsApp it on
How odd that a photo of a QR code on a screen works but screenshot doesn't.

My Dad has been offered his mates ticket for City but my Dad doesn't have any form of membership. Has always used screenshots in the past but hasn't been this season.

Screenshots don't work because when you attempt to screenshot the ticket, the whole image goes black

Common sense would be to get a forwarding membership. £25 - that covers him this season and next.

He will get in with the NFC Ticket / Access next season too.

Not sure it does.

Everyone is applying for all of them now so the top 2000 will just get one, almost guaranteed.

No person in their right mind is selling their ticket to someone who created an account on a United forum just to ask for a ticket
Can you please explain why this is impossible?

I am a lifelong United fan and have never lived in the UK, so I've never had the chance to attend a game. I recently moved to France, and this is a great opportunity for me to fulfill my dream of watching my team live for the first time. I understand that a new account might raise some suspicions, but I am willing to connect through other platforms to confirm my identity.

Once again, if anyone can help me get a ticket for the Lyon away match, please reach out. If, based on your experience guys, you think it's particularly difficult to get a ticket for this game, let me know, so I can stop trying.

Impossible is probably the wrong word. Highly improbably is more accurate.

The European away tickets are allocated fairly by the club, i.e. they go to the people with the most credits and you earn your credits by having attended previous European away games. Prior to this season, you had to collect your ticket in the city of the away game, i.e. fans would have previously had to have collected their ticket in Lyon for example.

This year has changed and tickets are now being sent either digitally, or to peoples home addresses, which works slightly in your favour as spares are becoming more prevalent. However, you are going to need to find someone who has applied AND got a ticket AND isn’t travelling AND is willing to let you, a complete stranger have their ticket. IMO, and this is just my opinion, that person is highly unlikely to exist and then you have to add in the fact that any person who fits the above criteria is more than likely to have a mate or a mate of a mate who they are more likely to psd their ticket on to over yourself.

If I had a ticket, for example and wasn’t travelling, I am more likely to speak to people I know who will be travelling and might not have a ticket before I sell it to a stranger on a United forum.

No harm in asking though. Your best bet might be one of the ‘legal’ ticket touting sites but the ticket is likely to cost in excess of £300

Thanks for explaining the process to me—it's always interesting to learn how it works. It's not easy to find information for people trying this for the first time.

I think the best approach would be to start with a home game against a smaller team.

The app doesnt allow me to side swipe either. If i cant get to see the ticket, are the ground staff useful or would they just turn you away based on the fact only one ticket qr is in the app?

Plus, the way United are treating ST holders, you can often find people will let the seat go empty as opposed to getting £30-40 for the seat from some random / unknown than may or may not be a menance to society.

You can see the efforts the club have gone to (in the recent fan minutes), to find out who has passed what to rangers fans recently.

Easier to do on the main site.

1. Make sure you have a Strong relationship set (using the other persons name, number and potentially postcode - all as per their account)

2. Add the person again, and select APP relationship

You need to be able to see their ticket in the app.

Your ticket will be in view, and then two dots at the bottom, meaning another ticket is there.

You swipe left and the other ticket is there (including the other seat and a seperate Live QR code)

To answer your question, the stewards won’t help other than direct you to the TO

My advice is to have it sorted well before the game. A call to the TO will sort it, if you can’t do it online.

I've seen people get knocked back because of that if they spot it. So be carfeul.

My mate got into match using that method, and then was refused access to Hotel Football post match with it

Just confirming- No workaround for members forwarding tickets (to other members?)

Ignore, see the photo and WhatsApp on method above.
