All ticket/travel information thread - 2024/25 edition - Ticket Purchasing FAQ in OP. Please read it and be careful purchasing tickets

Yeah that’s a good point about the corporate tickets, shame that tbh…

In the past I saw a chrome extension or something like that get created for a property site that managed to only notify people when a new listing was posted but also without a landlord fee…

Got to be some way of doing it. Or even a Twitter announcing the drops…kind of like when the PS5 stock was scarce.

The notification thing did work last year, to give you some sort of advantage over people, as the "get notified" or whatever it was, would change to "buy" and trigger the alert.
But i'm not sure you can get a notification from the page within the page if you know what I mean.

I'm sure there is a twitter account that gives word, but then you need to set a twitter link up for a link to this page and it all gets a bit of a hassle.

My first time using the ballot. I want to apply for a single for Arsenal... How does the payment work? It asks for my bank details etc for payment but do they charge right away?

Nah payment only goes through if you get the ticket (which is 99% only going to happen if you had a decent home attendance last year from what I’m hearing).

Surprised Arsenal suddenly became a ballot game again. But then Leeds is as well?

Was only City, Liverpool and Chelsea recently wasn't it?

They do often shift it around. City/Liv/Chelsea the only ones that seem to be nailed on every year.

Leeds last year was the first home game in the middle of covid so it was quite an easy ticket.

I think Arsenal was midweek last year which probably took any ballot chance away too in fairness.
Thinking about it, I only did midweeks last year!

Absolute shot in the dark, but does anyone have a bead on a ticket to Brentford away? I just found out I'll be in London that weekend.

I think the only official path would be through the very small fraction of season ticket holders that apply and get this.

realistically, I’d say your easier bet is taking a Brentford membership and buying a home ticket off one of their members, or going to the resell market closer to the time but under the awareness you’ll be paying an arm and a leg.

That's what I figured - right now the prices are at what I'd refer to as "reasonable grounds for divorce," but we'll see if there's any action between now and the 13th. Is the resale market generally okay in terms of tickets being legitimate? My first OT game was through Viagogo, but that was an age ago - I've had Canadian member tickets ever since. Appreciate the input, btw!

Really frustrating: can’t forward tickets to non-members now. Absolute pain in the arse.

I think you can still transfer to non-members but you need to either use your season ticket or transfer to a member at least 11 Premier league games during the season or you won't be able to renew the next season. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong sadly. Had to transfer one ticket for Brighton and two versus Leeds. Leeds worked fine to members. Brighton didn't work to non-member, even after creating a linked account for him. It now presents a message telling you that someone is a non-member and gives you the option to pay for a membership for them. I sent a lot of tickets to non-members last season when one of us couldn't go.

I didn't call the ticket office to see if they could override, but looks like the days of ticket forwarding to non-members lasted one season! Options now are to forward members, sell back to club (if available), or donate the ticket to be given to someone in kind.

Was the same last season.

Was the same last season.
It wasn't. I passed on tickets to about a dozen different non-members last season, where I just created a new linked account for them.

I haven’t had to do any transfers yet but by members do they mean paid members or are we still able to transfer to people who just had a free membership?
You have to have paid official membership now, starting from £20.

If you think that the cheapest membership is £20 and the cost of a typical ticket behind either goal from a season ticket holder is £37 face value and the same ticket using a membership from United is £45 you only have to have 3 tickets transferred to you to make it worthwhile

On the subject of membership, United are on FB and Insta today plugging the membership, with the main SP being that fact you can apply for United home tickets.

Breaking that down.

The releases for most games have taken place.
The other games are ballots.
The ballots are weighted on last seasons ticket purchases.
If you’re new in, you don’t really stand a chance of getting a ticket in the ballot.

Main value of a membership now, as far as I can see, is the fact you can have ST Transferred to you by holders not using them.

I think it's fairly easy to get into games as a member as long as you're not fussy about having any chance of the big 5 games, or being particular about where you sit.

The knack I've discovered (by not doing this!) is not to mess about searching in blocks, but instead to simply set the bar at the top to the desired price range and select "let computer pick for me" (or whatever it is to the letter.
Much more efficient, and what I'll do next time!

I largely agree with this but I’d counter it with a few points/additions:

* first up, with the birthday promo code, you can get a membership for a tenner - this is a good price

* the big ticket releases have sold out, sure, but the smaller releases still happen, for example the Brighton game still had one in spite of being the opener

* being able to access Europa league tickets is worth it

* having a membership to buy tickets off other members is worth it

Just my 2 pence mate! I endured the ticket day madness so this doesn’t apply to me but maybe it does to someone reading.

To Clarify, the post United put out was on the 18th July. The 18th June the fixtures came out and the sale of tickets started. 18k-20k in the online queue.

Matches deemed ‘big games’ have gone to ballot. The people who have signed up this season didn’t get tickets in the ballot with the stipulation that the ballots were weighted on last seasons ticket purchases.

Itrespected of the cost (even at £20 the lite membership would be good value if you could get even lower grade tickets), United are not been wholly truthful when they imply a member will get you tickets.

The ticket transfer is a minefield. Lucky if you know someone personally. But if you are not on the CAF, you are dealing in the murky world of Facebook. Pay Now, I’ll transfer later.

It’s a common trait with the membership and ticketing services. Similar last year when they advertised premium memberships to get advancement on obtaining a season ticket. Further, if you put a deposit down, you stand an even better chance. Only to advise that they won’t be selling any new season tickets this season.

All in all, if they were to be truthful and say memberships entitles you to log in and attempt to purchase tickets at the start of the season. Some tickets will become available as limited releases, but you need to hold your computer tight at all times, and hope you beat the queue.

The UEFA cup tickets are available. We don’t know who we will be playing, and it’s mid week which is not favourable for those travelling.

Again, it’s not the cost of the membership. It’s the function of buying, the lack of transparency and MUTS advising AFTER purchase that no new STs shall be sold (blanket email) or that home tickets ballots will take into consideration attendance last year as key metric.

I used that method last season two.
Instead of clicking the areas and scrolling through, out the quantity in the box and press go. Good advice.

You have to have paid official membership now, starting from £20.

Thanks, I did the same last season with transferring tickets to free members.

To be clear, I am a member, I have tickets, I get how it works.

For £10 people can get a lite membership with the promo code.

There will be chances to buy extra tickets for most games. No one would imagine this is easy or guaranteed at this stage. But £10 gets you a chance.

Having been through the carnage of the main ticket day, even then it wasn’t guaranteed or easy. A lot of people walked away empty handed.

Im not saying it’s easy or guaranteed to get tickets at this point or any point.

But even if I didn’t have a membership or any tickets at this stage, I’d still sincerely buy one. Im excited for the season and a £10 membership to get to watch even one or two matches would be well worth it for me.

If you can get Lite membership for £10 that would be worth it for being able to get season ticket holders to sell you their unwanted tickets.

Question … with getting membership lite, will you be able to buy or transfer in 1 or a pair of tickets?

Everyone get the strange email this morning saying there will be a release of 1,000 tickets for Arsenal, Leeds, West Ham, Spurs and Newcastle on the 10th August?

Lucky us. Just put them in the ballot FFS!

It is truly bizarre to include games that haven't even gone to the ballot yet isn't it?!
Good to see a number on something for once though.

All i know is i'll follow my own tip next time, and just go straight to the bar of value, select 1/2 tickets, and let the computer pick this time.
No sitting there trying to dig out the exact seat like i've got hours to do it.

That really is a pain!

Can you still give a ticket to someone else? My father-in-law would like to use the wife's ticket for the odd game, but from what I can tell that isn't officially allowed unless he becomes a member? Dislike the fact that he can't just use her ticket.

Why can't he just use her ticket? They don't look at names on tickets and it's not as if you're getting him to use a kids ticket or anything.

If it is close family, I would just send your season ticket to them. No-one will check.

Chubbed for Brentford it begins!

Also for those asking just screen grab your ticket send it to your friends or family or if you trust them just send them the link to your ticket so they can add it to their wallet on their phone wouldn't be an issue they don't check names on tickets etc how could they be there for a week before getting in.

What's the allocation at Brentford, only about 1,600 I think?

If anything, we would be out of pocket - an Over 75 would be going on an Adult ticket. It's this bit in United's latest communication that worries me:
"It is important from both a security perspective, and to mitigate against increased cases of ticket touting, that we are fully aware of each attendee in the stadium at every match. Please note that transferring a ticket in any other way (for example sending via WhatsApp) is not authorised, and will result in the attendee being refused entry to the stadium."

If for whatever reason a steward does decide to check, the old chap could be turned away trying to use his daughter's ticket. Seems mad, really, but I suppose it's a risk many will be taking as sharing tickets with close family is very common - and I doubt everyone is going to sign up for official membership.
