All ticket/travel information thread - 2024/25 edition - Ticket Purchasing FAQ in OP. Please read it and be careful purchasing tickets

Well that was an ordeal…my first time doing it as lived abroad for last 9 years before now.

Was waiting from 8am on multiple devices, some on Wi-Fi some on 5g. Got to the front and kicked out several times, then eventually got in and got the infamous error message.

With all said and done managed to get tickets to preseason, Spurs, Forest, Palace, Leicester, Brentford, Southampton, Everton, Villa, Wolves, Fulham.

So excited lads! Just hope we aren’t as atrocious this year haha.

United must be delighted that after a really brutal season, they have support willing to give up their entire mornings to snap a seat or two at OT against the lesser teams. Never mind the top 6.

It’s the blind optimism that gets us through and makes us part with the cash, in many cases. Roll on the season ahead.

Thanks for letting us know about your success. Not green at all about it "ya fecking fecker...":)

Next time I think I'll not play the mug's game of clicking manically between blocks, but instead simply select "2" on the ticket bar, and £40-55 on the price bar, and let the computer pick!

At least you'd be in then!

As a question for anyone who got in loose at 10am, what sort of numbers availability was there in blocks? Was it 20 rows or so?
Just trying to get a handle on what percentage goes up day 1, and how many are held back.
The fact Brighton already mentions 24th June as being the next batch made me wonder are these fresh tickets or returns expected?!

I must have been one of the first through. I clicked into the stall behind the goals in the Stretty and there was one row free. A full row, in fairness. This was the case for the 3 matches I initially bought.

I am looking for 2 tickets for the Dec 31 away game at Wolves. Travelling to England over Christmas and want to take my son a Utd game and this is only time fits our schedule. I know it is a bit far out but please PM me if you can help. Thanks!

So we're probably not talking 1000s and 1000s per game probably then?
Just adds to the farce of it all really.

I'm annoyed I hadn't noticed Brighton was a Sunday as that'd be a certainty i could make it. Although, I'd probably not have got a look in anyway!

Totally missed out this morning with the queue kicking me out. Just checking, even when “sold out”, do members see all games like last season?

When I log in I only see the July friendly and an advert for me to buy a membership - though I already have one and am logged in as a member.

It's genuinely pleasing to hear that some johnny come lately can cruise in, basically hoover up all of the tickets, and then his make his first ever post on here to tell us about it.

Warms your heart I tells ye .

Blimming heck

Should have kept your old season ticket pal.

No aggro for folk like myself.

I was pleasantly suprised tbh, got through really quick and seemed to be a lot of lowers. Feels like a system whereby when your “in” properly you can move around fine but it’s just a nightmare to get in. I used the “choose seats” filter, just dragged the price down to 36-so I knew I could only be in east/west lowers, worked a treat. As I said this was on data via my phone, I eventually got in on my laptop and tried to move around to see if I could and it was a shambles.

not right really because if you are lucky and get in you can literally go through and get 5/6/7 etc games whilst some can’t even get on the site. I’ve always been in the latter but being in the first group today did feel a bit snide. United simply don’t give a toss about member tickets on league games as the demand is high, until they come up with a way of differentiating between members it will be a joke.

The 8 weeks before a game release seems to be a positive step - let’s see it in practise. And obviously the 3 ballots to come, can hardly talk given today but I’ve had one pair of the club in a ballot the last 10+ years so Im not holding my breath. Would love to see how many apps and tickets available for the ballot games.

Good summary that is, and fair play for your good luck of getting in, don't really begrudge anyone, just joking with the lad earlier :)

Didn't see Arsenal being a ballot, that seemed surprising. Leeds as well.

Oh well, gives the hope of Liverpool and Arsenal in the ballot then! The latter only if it works date wise, that's the only advantage of not being in now. At least the dates will be confirmed by the next releases/ballots etc.

yeah the only saving grace is you obviously can only get 1 ticket per membership so you can’t hoover up for non members but it’s still a bit crap- not sure the club can do much about that though. As I said a lot of blocks available but no chance they didn’t hold some back, especially as they’ve made a big deal about this 8 week before ticket drop. I cant do Brighton but interested to see how next Friday goes.

yep was gutted when I saw Leeds was a ballot, was hoping that one would slip under the radar and go on general sale like last year.

We know for certain that they keep games back so that they can peddle One United memberships all season.
No-one would be buying one just to do official transfers.

It seems like it'll be the same as last year. Be lucky to be online when they drop, and then if you notice within 5-10mins you'll probably get a couple.
Today was much harder as it was a very obvious drop time, so 100s of thousands could pop on and a sheer game of who has the best tech / options to get on quickest and lock themselves in, while everyone else like you said is locked in a maze of slow loading pages and quickly disappearing seats,.

What a mess...
About 1200 before me in the queue so I would get in pretty quickly ... I thought ... When it was my turn and I was sent on, I was sent to the start page on manutd.com. Had to start over and then it was 5000 before me. When I then came in and could book, there were many good places to choose from but I could not choose a seat!?! Just got a message that "this seat is not in your price range"?!? The bar was dragged to most expensive tickets at £ 175! Tried several times with the same result. Then chose that the "computer" would choose 2 seats and then got decent seats but I could not go on. Got the wrong message that one of us two could not book tickets (both are members)!?! Tested again with the same result. On the third attempt it went but then there were only tickets on NW3436 for £175 each.

I can’t believe they’ve still not sorted this process out yet. Actually, I can…it’s United, every single department fails.

Don’t forget that season ticket holders can return their seats for individual games back to the club from this season, we’ve not been told how yet as far as I‘m aware (eg if they have to be returned within a timescale before the game). Who knows how the ticket office will sort that though, if I return our two tickets will they immediately appear for sale on the site or will the ticket office hold them back until they’ve got a larger number to put out for sale.

I also cannot believe the club allows so many singles littered all over. It is a nightmare to go with a mate! Managed to get Spurs, Leicester, Everton and Fulham. Had a chance to buy a couple of others but seats weren't great, I think I will stand a better chance on those in future drops

Feck have I missed tickets?

can anyone drop the hint on the best times to check future drops? I remember they did batches on set days last year

Say what you like about viagogo, but that was brilliant for availability.
And if you put the work in, you could always get a ticket for the big games too.
£75 instead of £49 face type of mark up, but I dare say we'd all go for that.

When my boys Wycombe were at Wembley, I'm sure there was something built into the ticketing system that either prevented you leaving a single, or massively clamped down on it.
They need to look at something like that.

haha I put in years on the terraces of Eastern Europe, I’ve earned the right to a few solo tickets back home! Despite the fact my Nan was catering the welcome back do at the hotel the night Munich happened, I’ve never had the spare cash to get to Trafford up until now! Excited af mate I can’t lie!

do you know roughly what the pattern was last year mate or was it random? Need to grab some tickets for my little bro when the time comes…

I dont remember which day but it was always the same time. Like Monday 11am or something. My friend would check at this rough time and see tickets drop. Not weekly but i think two weeks before fixtures or something.

No point beating about the bush in relation to this.

It it not going to happen!

Sorry but a single away is exceedingly difficult to get hold of. A pair, on NYE, is going to be practically impossible unless you know people who know people.

You could chance going on the day and trying to find one purely by asking about but I’d suggest it’s unlikely.

Pretty sure it was nowhere near as standard as this! They could drop any time. Many dropped late afternoon.

Yep. @Darkhorsez if you just want to go and watch and can contain yourself, it's probably easiest to buy 2 wolves memberships then just buy in the home end when they get released!
That or take mad wads on the day for a tout.

Great to see United punting their official partner on the site offering a ticket and hotel package after the utter shiit fest they served up to 'members' who were trying to buy tickets last Thursday:lol:

I bet the club think they're doing them a favour?

Taking the fecking piss, again.

Wolves hospitality would be cheaper than what the touts charge.

Assume it's the usual drill where they say it's "from" £129 or something that seems just about reasonable, but by the time you get on there you can only get some £400 combo?

Initial prices ranging from £139 up to £229 for the scouse and citeh games.

Never used these firms as it goes against the grain but kid pressure may see me resorting to it later in the season? I'll throw in here my youngest wanting to watch United has seen me, throw a few of my moral stances in the bin. I haven't the heart to tell him, the club are money grabbing knobbers.

Interestingly, part of the package includes becoming a 'member' of United.

Good to see 'members' getting binned for tickets for non members or having to get another membership through an official partner in order to get a ticket.

United are grubby waankerz on times.

I would love a couple of tickets to the opening game! If any tickets holders are looking to sell please DM me.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I am checking in with a few mates. So I went to a couple of websites and they are selling but at crazy high prices. Are these sites legit ?

Livefootballtickets are legit but you’d have to give an arm and leg

Just received a notification from the club saying that they will be selling tickets to the opening game on Friday 24th June and the ballot for Liverpool tickets will be open, heads up for anyone looking!

There will be thousands on the site at 8am Friday already, we don't need anymore reminders

I thought that somebody might say that! I do see that this thread is split between posts bemoaning the lack of notice or structure from the clubs releases, and others bemoaning too many people trying to buy tickets at once.

Well yes - it's the lack of structure that leads to the 'rush'. There are many other better ways of doing it that have been discussed in here. Loyalty points etc being the obvious.

Also to be clear, i'm not actually having a pop at you for letting people know about Friday, that would be ridiculous!

Bit of a Catch 22 isn't it, too many damn fans! I have no evidence for this but I have a feeling they do prioritise fans who have held a membership for a number of years. The reason being that my friend and I were both unsuccessful in the City ballot last season, but then the week after he got an invite to choose tickets which I never got, luckily he could grab one for me. I thought this might have been because his membership has been active since 2013, but could just have been random.
