There’s a lot of very thick, angry people on Twitter. There’s no reason your seat should not be used and the stadium should not be full for every single match, pretty much. Your official options are:
- Attend the match yourself;
- Forward the ticket on to another member through the official system;
- Sell it back to the club for the club to resell, with a full refund if it is resold (option available for most league and CL matches);
- Donate it to the MU Foundation.
On top of that, you also have the unofficial option of just sharing your season ticket QR code with close friends and family you trust.
If your seat is still not being occupied, or is not made available to be occupied, more than two league matches a season with all those options, you aren’t really trying. The club are entirely right to try and eliminate the clusters of seats in the ground that are in the hands of the wealthy, who buy a season ticket with intent of only turning up for big matches. We had a strip of seats behind us in the Stretford End for years that were never filled apart from for Big 6 and big CL matches.
