Hence why you have zero chance of getting one on here.

As I mentioned, I have access to aways, but I also have a shed load of mates that would bite my hand off for away tickets, especially a London away. Like I said, I needed a Fulham away and so I offered a Real Madrid away as a swap and that sorted it, you simply won't be getting offered a Fulham or QPR away from someone on here.

Obviously it's a longshot, but someone might not be able to go at short notice & can't find someone to go in their place, you never know do you?

Anyone been stopped for ID at the turnstile this year ? Few people moaning about it on twitter, I am assuming it's only those with concession tickets.

It's worth a try but don't get your hopes up, If you have got a spare it's going to your mate or someone on here who has helped you out in the past or willing to do so in the future.

I've had some luck with London aways here in the last year. Got two for Fulham last year and one for Chelsea this year.

Not on here you didn't, there is no way someone off here just sorted you 2 tickets out for Fulham away in the United end last year, who? Although, it was midweek wasn't it? Still, I'd love to know who if true.

Although maybe you mean Capital One Cup for Chelsea, in which case we got the entire shed end (7000 tickets) for a mid-week game, totally different.

Anyway let them try I guess, I say they are pipe dreaming and I've been on here long enough to know that. I certainly wouldn't ever entertain the idea of giving up a weekend London away to some bloke who never helps out with tickets on here and just shows up asking for away tickets to London away matches.

Yeah I sorted him out for Chelsea in the cup.

I had a couple of spares and because it was midweek their were plenty of spares around.

I think I'm going to drive down to Fulham on Saturday. Hoping to get one outside the ground

It's quite regular in certain stands, and it will get a lot worse. The man in charge of the ticket office is keen.

Got in on my 18-20 (why not 21?) membership a few times, lent it to my mate once, I've got in on someone else's of the same age, and a couple of others on adult cards. I've never been checked, nor have I ever seen anyone else checked.

Regardless, I understand the TO saying that tickets can't be exchanged, and it encourages it, which they don't want. But don't start banning people from the ground. Do they want empty seats filling the stadium?

As long as you get your money, ey lads?

Why do you hold London aways in such high regard? If I was picking which to go to, it'd be the likes of Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, Leeds, Sheffield Wed/Utd, as opposed to Fulham, QPR etc.

Smaller allocation, longer to travel, more expensive to travel, more expensive tickets, don't see the appeal.

Never been asked for ID. What happens if you can't make the game, and you have give your ST to your brother like I do if I can't make the match.

Why? Because they are often the hardest to get of course.

which stands?
I know they check concessions from time to time, which is fair enough.
Also I heard that some checks were going on in ET2 and the Quadrants recently due to the significant amount of half season tickets bought by touts in those areas - however if it more than that then it is something to worry about.
Personally I have never seen any ID checks.

It's interesting reading about these checks. I'm probably going to get a couple of pro rata season tickets imminently for myself and a mate, we both have One United cards.

He wouldn't come to all the games, so i'd obviously bring someone else. If I have my ID, and my One United card, and whoever I bring has his One United card, we should be fine right?

Luckily his name is a name that could also be a females, so that angle is covered!

I was planning to move the odd game on, but when I bought a pro rata ticket 2 years ago, the first game the cards failed.
If that happened to someone I'd sold the tickets to they'd be stuffed, as presumably the ticket office wouldn't give them the tickets just off them having the One United cards/season tickets> They'd need photo ID/credit cards?

Massive checks during Liverpool game on North Stand, and Family Stand. Stewards coming to seats and asking for ID's, name, DOB, and post code. If they weren't able to provide answers they were asked how much they had paid for the ticket.

This is now become an issue. Quite a number of cards failed at West Ham FA cup game and many genuine fans were unable to gain entry because they had been passed on tickets by friends/family or purchased them at published rates from various sources. They now assume any person who's not the ticket holder gaining entry has been sold a ticket by a tout.

Personally I think it's petty. As long it's not a concession ticket, and the ticket is sold or passed onto genuine United fans it should be fine.

I normally lend 2 seasons ticket cards off my girlfriends boss when he cant make the games (Just pay face value for the game) is there a chance me and my mate could go with his 2 tickets and be asked for ID and refused entry?

Or have I misunderstood?

You've misunderstood. They only check ID on concession tickets. What Sults is talking about is the auto cup scheme and the issues that arise when the ST card hasn't been enabled for the Cup game, in these cases only the ST holder can then go into the ticket office to get the matter resolved and the card enabled.

Thinking back 2 years it was the Schalke semi final, that my tickets failed for. 30min wait in the queue, new paper tickets, those failed, 30mins more in the queue, stress levels rising, then just about got in at kick off!

Am I right in thinking then, that if I do sell tickets on out of my short term season tickets, to only risk it for league games>

Heap, out of interest, how in God's name do you manage it? I can afford roughly half of the homes. Travelling to a few aways as well would be well out of the question.

I can't afford the home games on top so don't go (been to Spurs and Liverpool this year).

And i basically have to pick and choose aways now too, usually avoiding a transfer fare if possible. Don't think i'll bother with 50 quid plus for QPR.
Last season i only did 6 aways, compared to the years before where the least i had done since the age if 15 was 12 - A return to form, and a part time job has seen me hit 7 already this year..

My student loan works out that i live on 48 quid a week, fine, if you don't fancy the football :D

I think they're making a big mistake here, I know a few people who pass on tickets but they're not doing it to make a profit, it's either FV or below. If United are going to put a stop to this and start confiscating tickets I doubt many of them will be back next year.

They always say you need photo ID but on boxing day I managed to get a duplicate by showing my old season ticket.

Huh, must be nice to be able to pick and choose aways as and when. 'It's not what you know..' and all that.

If they I.d anyone using my ticket after I have sold them for less than face value to very grateful friends and refuse them entry I can safely say they won't ever get a fecking renewal off me again. Final straw for me if true.

I don't actually carry ID with me when going to games unless I'm specifically picking tickets up.

Hearing the above, i might need to change that!

I'm looking into this myself, mate. Out of curiosity, how much will one set you back?

Simply games left x price of the seat you get. (take Southampton and Everton games out of the equation as i can't make those)
Minimum 8 games, maximum (if we get a 6th round FA cup, and QF and SF euro), would be 11.

so say, 11x£40 if you get a ticket in the ET2. £440?

I'd be getting 2, so I'm looking at best part of a grand!

That's why i I have to plan carefully and make sure I can bring someone to each game.
If it stalls with this Reading FA Cup game already, I might have to abort the plan and take my chances in the Madrid Ballot!!

UCL prices go up every round, groups stages £39, last 16 £44, quarter final £46 and semi final £49.

It doesn't matter now, all ST are sold out as I said above.

Really? Have you been told that by the ticket office?

Seems quite unlikely for 3 reasons

1) tickets are available for all remaining home games in either the ballot or through the club site, why wouldn't they want to shift them in a go?

2) 2 years ago I got short term season tickets a good month later than this, and that included some pretty big games, and a champions league quarter and semi!

3) the club still have the below on the site for Everton and Norwich games....
Tickets
All tickets for this fixture have now been sold however a limited number of Season Tickets remain available. Please call 0161 868 8000 for more information.

I was still getting cold calls last week so assumed they were for sale, with guaranteed tickets for City, Chelsea and Madrid I am not surprised they have sold out this early.

A friend of mine bought one in ET2 a week or so ago.

Would probably be worth checking if they have any still

Erm, I've just told you they are all sold out now, do you think I've just pulled that out of my arse?

I called them yesterday afternoon and they told me they sold the last few that morning.

As I said above, I called them, I have factual information, why not just call yourself and get it confirmed instead of speculating?

No club would ever try to sell their full capacity in ST's, that's just retarded. There's a reason we only have what, 50,000 ST for sale right?

Oh, and Everton & Norwich are sold out by the way

2) 2 years ago I got short term season tickets a good month later than this, and that included some pretty big games, and a champions league quarter and semi!

2 years ago was different, have you seen how much harder it is to get tickets this year? Pretty much no game has gone to general sale unless it is midweek

well obviously they just didn't have time to update the site yet

You may well be correct that they've stopped pro rata season ticket sales, but your point above is laughable.

You can easily buy tickets for any game bar the top say 5 games of the season without even having to go into a ballot these days!
Hard to get tickets? It's probably the easiest time ever to get United tickets.

"Laughable"... really?

Not one single weekend game this season in the Premier League has gone to general sale. Compare that to last season and the season before that when every single home PL game barring City, Chelsea and Liverpool went to general sale. feck, 2 years ago Arsenal went on general sale.

Every single PL weekend game this season has been sold out at member point at least one month in advance on the game, I mean, just see Norwich now, and Reading will soon be the same. For the past 2 seasons you could buy tickets on general sale for most games right up until a couple of days before the game.

So yes, it is much harder getting tickets this year than it was 2 seasons ago. I never said it was "hard to get tickets", you made that up yourself. Buy a membership and purchase a ticket early and it's easy for 90% of matches, no doubt.

Stick to stuff you know something about pal.

I wasn't having a go or saying you were lying.

I was just telling him to phone up himself and double check before going through all the working out of whether he wants a season ticket or not. Nip the idea in the bud
