Going a bit against the grain here, after having some time to readjust the head. This idea about loyalty and breach of it seems to me an obsession similar to the intensity to which third kits are discussed by some (me included) - it is something that goes on in the supporter's world, and is only understandable from the viewpoint of a supporter.
From a viewpoint of any normal player, it must seem loco. How many players play for the club they themselves support monogamously, their whole carreers?
Solskjaer, the epitome of loyalty, supported Liverpool as a kid, switched to United. How is that loyal?
Wes, a United fan all his life, was thought interested in leaving the club for playing time. How many here didn't see that as understandable, even forgiveable. (Even attractive, making way for some Alves...) How is that loyal?
Mr. Man Utd, Sir Matt Busby, was with both Liverpool and City before he dedicated his life to United. How is that loyal.
If I'm honest with myself, I'm only angry with Ronaldo like someone is when they are in love with someone who will love them back ... "only as a friend".
The boy from Madeira who grew up with a dream of playing in Madrid, has been quite good to United, and in some way, I think he do love the club and the fans. He deserves a place in hour history as a minor legend regardless. And if he does stay, he is more than welcome. As a friend, mind you.
(No, Gaby, get back in the closet, you're NOT exused with this).
