Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

What? Who said they're shit? Is the caf one person now? And what does that have to do with Mkhitaryan? He himself has been trash. If he goes to the champions he'll likely end up on the bench again.

Sanchez is fantastic though. You don't rate him or something?

I said Sanchez to Chelsea. You said they have no space for him because they have Barkley and Pedro.

This could explain a lot. Arsenal pissed off with city low balling so asked if they could buy Mkhi and offer Sanchez to make the deal happen.

Probably looked like other option was he goes in summer and Arse want money.

Given this suggestion United thought yep let’s make it happen and do one over another rival whilst upgrading a similar aged player.

Ah alright. Makes more sense. But I don't see what Mkhitaryan rejecting Arsenal has to do with Sanchez going to Chelsea. We could easily match whatever they're offering. He'll go to Chelsea if he prefers Chelsea. And I haven't heard much noise about the Chelsea link. It sounds like your typical random rumors.

I reckon he's coming to United and it's almost done.

I agree with this.

Never fancied her anyway
There is no doubt that John Cross’ piece on Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal’s parting of ways is excellently sourced. It’s just that Mediawatch can’t help thinking that this is the perfect time for Arsenal to try and persuade supporters that selling Sanchez to Manchester United or Chelsea is the right thing to do. And the only way to do that is by questioning the Chilean’s professionalism.

‘Alexis Sanchez is the £60m gamble which backfired so badly it has left the club in meltdown,’ begins Cross’ piece in the Daily Mirror. Meltdown, you say? Glad he’s leaving then.

And so you get accusations like this:

‘The harsh reality is that Sanchez became such an unmanageable diva that he has left a trail of destruction in his wake which raises serious questions about Arsene Wenger’s future.

‘The moment Chile went out of the World Cup was a game changer and Sanchez was dead set on leaving Arsenal quickly. At 29, his last shot at glory for his country was gone and he wanted to join a club with a chance of winning silverware.

‘Sanchez also switched off in training and was petulant on the training ground – last year he was dropped at Liverpool for having a bust-up after storming off. That got worse. His levels dropped, he was the first to leave and displayed more arrogance than usual.’

The suggestion that the World Cup exit changed things is interesting. Chile’s elimination from World Cup qualifying was confirmed on October 11. Yet on November 26, six weeks after he had supposedly downed tools, Cross wrote that Sanchez was ‘a bundle of energy, desire and non-stop work rate’ who ‘drove Arsenal on’ during an away win against Burnley.

‘Never did understand why some Arsenal fans thought it was good business to sell Sanchez on deadline day,’ Cross tweeted the next day. ‘Yesterday proved the point. Football over balance sheet to keep him. Why any fan wants to lose their best player is beyond me.’

An awful lot has changed in six weeks.

Mourinho said yesterday that he wanted to keep the squad the same size and in the last 6 months there have been reports from reputable hacks suggesting we're guarding against squad bloat (and ensuring the finances don't get out of control) by following a one-in-one-out policy.

Mkhitaryan out - Sanchez in. I guess we might see similar in the summer with replacements for Blind, Darmian, Fellaini and Carrick.

I'm starting to love this swapping thing. Rooney as a part of Lukaku, now mkhi for Sanchez... It's like trading your old phone while getting a new one. We instantly save on weekly wages that could amount to several millions.

Can you please put that in a quote picture?

What Mkhitaryan has to realise is that if we just pay the money and sign Sanchez then he's right down the pecking order anyway. The club shouldn't allow Raiola to use this as leverage to get himself another big pay cheque.

Either he goes Arsenal or he faces little playing time here. If he wants to go elsewhere then the deal will have to be suitable for us.

I doubt there is an issue with United and Raiola - he just loves to talk! He'll be getting a sweet deal for his client and United will get their way, hopefully.

Naaa hes signing for spurs... oh wait!
Will be amazing if Chelsea offers Willian for Sanchez and then the deal falls through because Willian instead prefers us. So in the end Mkhi moves to Chelsea and we get Willian with Wenger and the bald cnut left with an egg on their face

I get the impression that Arsenal won't even countenance the sale of Sanchez to us without Mkhi - so the extra cash would be futile. Otherwise, I reckon United would've done so and then moved Mkhi on during the summer.
