Moved to Borussia Dortmund from AIK in the Swedish league. On loan at present playing for Willem II in the Dutch top tier. 19 yrs old and turning in some great performances for club and country. Fantastic development and a very very promising young player with an abundance of talent. Move over Zlatan! Anyone heard of him?

Heard of him when he rejected Real Madrid for Dortmund. Not kept up with his progress since

Did what everyone wanted Ødegaard to do by turning down Real Madrid for Dortmund. Both of them have had a similar career thus far though, with little sucess before this season, which has been a break through season for both of them.

The few times he's played for Dortmund you could always see his talent. But he seemed woefully skinny and nervous in front of goal. After getting some minutes here and there last season he's been relegated back into the second team after Favre took over and hasn't made the squad since, despite Favre trying even most of the midfielders there. Now that his loan is going very well there are reports that he could be returning to Dortmund in the summer, since Alcacer is the only natural striker in the squad and they otherwise have to rely on Götze who interprets the position more as a false 9.

I think he could go either way, scoring in Holland can be misleading.

Looked great in Sweden's recent matches. Did everything right when he came on. You can see his talent.

Scored twice and had two assists in his last game with Willem. That's five goals and two assists in his last two games. Seems to be very smart and mature on and off the ball.

Talented player, needs to stay in Holland for at least one more season. Marcus Berg still starts ahead of him for the NT

He is young, and he needs to muscle up first. He has lots of time on his side.

FM legend.
Let's see if he can make it at dortmund.

Scoop him up if he's any good ;)

So rather than make an offer for him now when he can come relatively cheap, we should wait until he makes a name for himself and pay 10 times more? What's the point of having scouts if they can't recognize talent before it's known to the rest of the world??

He's doing great at Willem II but i don't think he's good enough for the bigger leagues (yet). Needs to get faster on and with the ball, but he does have the instinct of a good player.

If Sweden make it to the Euros 2020 he'll be their star man and that will be his stage. Loaning him out to Willem II was a smart move by Dortmund. If he continues developing as he is, they'll be a big price tag on him when the Euros get under way. Snap him up now!

Who is the guy at dortmund who finds these players??
I think you can say that it isn't one guy in particular, it's more up on a good structure in the Club. There was a big worry about the leaving of Mislintat, but after great transfers like Zagadou, Akanji, Sancho, Alcacer, Witsel and so on its obvious that we could go on without him and continue in getting great players and developing the squad and the Club. The last transferwindows were sensational in my eyes.

Isak is a good prospect, had problems in his physics and were struggling with the level of performance we are expecting, but the loan was a good move. We will see how this develops.

Isak, Sancho, Zagadou were all signed when Mislintat was still at the club.

But yeah, it not about 1 person, it's always about the network.

Surprised his move to La Real is permanent, thought Dortmund had big plans or is there just no space for him to break through in next two years? Guess they'll probably be buy back clause.

Real Sociedad is very good club for developing players to get starts and improve so think this will be very good move for him.

Clubs haven't made the details public, but in Dortmund's press release their DoF said that they will continue to watch him closely, which I guess is a pretty strong hint.

Favre doesn't seem to rate him (yet) as he didn't play him at all, despite spending a lot of time looking for the right no9, before finding Alcacer and Götze establishing himself upfront. With those two being there, Favre not being super enthusiastic about him and Dortmund hoping to challenge for the title next season he probably didn't have a very good perspective at the club.

Should've taken a punt when he left Dortmund. We'd rather sign players when they're worth 300m though.

Just caught the highlights. Brilliant with both feet

If Dortmund didn't include a buyback clause, it was a bad deal IMHO

Dortmund have a buyback clause on 30mil euros, for other clubs La real have a buyout activation like 70-75mil euro clause, read some where in Swedish newspaper he had gained weight muscles 5-8kg in last year.
We expect him to perform in European championship this summer.

Win-win clause then. I really have high hopes for this fella. Btw, what hampered Alexander Milosevic progress? He seemed to be destinated to become a top center back, now he's 28 and plays on the Championship.

Abit odd that Dortmund,a club recently known to be a great environment for young players and one that moved quickly for Isak's signature, gave up on him relatively early,no ?

They still are a good environment for brute diamonds, but isak was probably in the stage between becoming a diamond and a graphite

Credit to him! He’s been on fire since december now. Very exciting young striker. Him and Odegaard links very well too, moves excellent and gets deserved service

Just theorizing, but I don't believe Dortmund gave up on him so quickly. To be it always seemed the player wasn't convinced anymore and they didn't want to keep him against his will. We once had a similar case with Milik. If the player changes his mind and comes to the conclusion that you are not the best place for him to develop after alll, I think there's little you can do about it.

If he gets to start ahead of Berg

It is a tricky question. Since Berg has done a lot of good for the team.
Swedens Firmino a bit in terms of his defensive contribution.
Although Berg is pretty old now so not sure how good he is anymore.
Berg and Quaison has been good together too and know how to play together more.
If Claesson is back there will be more power and threat from the wing too with Forsberg on the other side.

I think Isak and Kuslevski will start on the bench and it will probably be the right call.
Not going to be popular though. Against maybe Ireland or another crappy side we could maybe go with a more attacing team.
Although playing Isak against Ramos would make sense after last game ;).

Came off the bench. Settled the basque derby with 1 assist and 1 goal. Hottest striker in Spain at the moment?:cool:

Very impressed by him against Spain. Especially his touch and control which got him past the defence for both of swedens only chances. Even more impressive that he's only 21
