Liverpool will not be interested in Isak due to the fee and his injury record.
Spending in excess of £120M on a 26 y/o with a low sell on value at the end of a 5 year contract is not in line with the Moneyball principal adopted by Liverpool.
Isaks injury record is poor. Salah is virtually indestructible in comparison while Jotta, a reliable goal scorer, misses far too many games with lengthy injuries. Liverpool will not want to duplicate the issue by signing Isak.
Pedro or Cunha are far more realistic Premiership targets for Pool than Isak. Younger, cheaper options who are likely to improve with age.
We didn't spend anything this season, going to have at least one big wage off the books, sell Nunez (hopefully silly saudi money), and didn't we bid around 100m for Caicedo? I think for the right player, we could still do it. 26 isn't a bad age either, in current markets, could still move on in early 30's for a big fee.
Hope you're right as we definitely need a striker and he ticks every box.
But given on the contract situation, there's a chance we need at least five new players in the summer, in which case 120m or whatever might be too much on just one of them.
