Alex Oxlade Chamberlain

If he wasn't such a crock I'd be happy to take a punt on him.

No. They should have signed him when he was leaving Southampton if they were going to, not later when he has been ruined by Arsene.

No thanks.
Was a bit gutted we didn't try to sign him when he went to Arsenal and his early performances were hugely promising, but he has gone backwards in the last 2 years. Seems to have lost a yard and its still not clear if he's best as a winger or playing centrally.
If we can get him for £12-15m then maybe and I'd definitely try him out in the middle of the park. Having said that, we have a similar player in Januzaj (similar as in seems to have the tools to be very good, but for whatever reason isn't showing it at the moment), so why not try to get him up to speed instead?
We tried to sign him. Open secret. His father chose Arsenal.

He was given many chances this season but hasn't taken them. Him and Walcott will be moved on and it's probably what they both need.

More fool his father then.
At that time we had, Rooney, Park, Nani, Valencia, Giggs, And co for the attacking midfield roles. We had a much stronger team than Arsenal. He judged he'd find it easier to break into the Arsenal team.

He could be a good "project", Mourinho can rebuild him.

West Ham would be a good move for him at this point in his career, coming here or to City to sit on the bench would do him no good, he needs to be playing week in week out to save his career.

West Ham will be his end, with the new TV deal a player like him should go to a big club and give everything.

Don't fully understand your post. Are you suggesting West Ham will refuse to sell if he turns out good?

I was unsure as to whether or not to sell Ox as he hasn't developed how everyone hoped and I didn't realize how unproductive he truly was until seeing the stats in this thread. He loses the ball too much to play in central midfield and he hasn't scored or assisted enough to be a first choice winger.

With that said, the fact that he's seemingly wanted by United, City, Chelsea and Everton makes me wonder if we should keep him. He's only 22 and shown flashes of talent before. When it comes down to it, would rather sell Giroud and Walcott as Ox has time on his side.

I also just realized, Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky are all gone, if we sell Walcott/Giroud (both hopefully) then we're going to be short on bodies and I can't see Wenger replacing those 5 and getting in a replacement for Chamberlain as well if he goes too.

Not to mention the fact that Sanchez + Ozil are going to need a rest after their summer tournaments and Wilshere can never stay fit, so if he stays and works hard, he'll most likely have a free run at a first team shirt come the start of next season.

I would honestly give him 3 more years, even if he reproduces his poor form going forward, with the way money in football is getting out of control someone will still come in for him.

I just don't want us to sell him and then he explodes the next two seasons, especially at Man Utd, he's got the talent to do it, just needs to stay fit and stop hitting the cross bar so much, seen far more ability from him than Walcott ever showed at the same age.

The mistake we made with him, was not sending him out on loan for a full season so that he can develop, play week in week out (injuries aside) and learn from his mistakes.

We're doing the same with Chambers, these guys will never get any better by simply sitting on the bench and playing infrequently.

They will ask for a ransom, which will limit his options.

Edit: And I think that he is good enough for us and Arsenal.
