Alejandro Garnacho (out)

Good chance Amorim won't even be the manager in a year's time if performances don't improve. Then we've lost important players for no reason. Anyway, Garnacho was great when he came on against Liverpool so clearly he can perform in the role
So again, we're supposed to keep him on to be a super sub (who will very shortly command high profile starter wages)?

He's yet to prove to be a reliable starter at this level even during a period of inconsistensy and mediocrity at that position.

If we can manage a good fee right now, think it wouldn't hurt us long term. There's a good chance that if he stays, he continues not being in the starting XI and looking out of sorts in this system which would wind up tanking his value further.

If we are going to negotiate down from 60M, then I do think a buy-back is a must have and dealbreaker in any final deal.

If we are looking to sell Garnacho for a big price then playing him seems like a bad idea. Just lowered his value by 5 million quid with that first half performance.

He's still only 20. You act like he's 27. He has been a reliable starter in a different formation. Unlike many of our players in other positions who are also underperforming, he needs to learn a new role. Aside from Amad, who has performed consistently in their new position? Ugarte's playing the same role he always has, so you'd expect him to do well there. Not sure who else you think is doing well but I'd struggle to say anyone after that. Bruno's had some good games but has also clearly had struggles at times understanding the new role and he's an excellent player and an experienced one. I don't see why Garnacho is being targeted so much for criticism frankly when so many of the rest of our players have been just as poor.

He's not good enough. Get over it. He only looked vaguely exciting because he was surrounded be fecking dross most of the time.

Hasn't got the mentality.

You fully deserved that response.
Why, because I dared to suggest a manager might not work out here like every other manager we've had since Ferguson? Didn't say he definitely wouldn't be here, but we should be planning for that possibility. That was the whole idea behind getting a new structure and not just letting the manager choose what players we sign anymore. You want continuity if things don't work out. Selling one of our most talented and valuable assets is poor planning.

The fact that you're in here during a game almost wanting the manager to be sacked says a lot about you.

I don't want the manager sacked. I posted in here because I saw the news of Garnacho and frankly nothing was happening during the game. You're here during the game too btw

£60m+ and we should entertain it. It'd be a shame to sell him as he's come through the academy, but I don't think he offers enough to be a fixture in that front 3. I'm unsure if there's enough raw potential there to mould him into what we need.

If the opposing defender is faster than him then he struggles. He doesn't have the close control and agility of an Amad where he can put his defender off balance with his dribbling and he lacks the game intelligence and awareness to be an effective passer in those tight spaces.

Noooo fecking way!

Great run, great pass, great finish

Edit: Wrong thead. But just added 10M to his value :)

He's worth 80m and feck everyone undervaluing him. Most shite players go for 50m and this guy is our star youngster.

Not good enough, no mentality Garnacho just created our goal playing in a role he's not suited for. Amazing

I don’t trust we’d replace him and he’s one of the better players we’ve brought through in recent years I’d be gutted if he’s sold to be honest
Ayye that's more than fair. I go back and forth on it to be honest. Mainoo would be the killer for me.

I wouldn’t be disappointed if he was sold. I honestly don’t think this system works for him and getting money for him really makes sense if Amorin wants his own players in.
I think AG would do amazing as a wide player in any functioning team and I think we would regret selling him if we go back to a 433 or similar formation.

Still believe he will end up a great player. He will be fantastic given the chance to play out wide every week. We would be mad to sell him for anything less than £60m. Every club pays stupid money for potential and he’s one of our 3 best prospects. Solanke went for £65m!

Thought he was much better as the right 10 today against Arsenal, would be interesting to see him as the right 10 and Amad as the RWB.... shame our left is nowhere near as strong

Are there any links of who would supposedly be shelling 50+ mill on him?

Bruno class as the left 10 and if you have one side more attacking like that, we still need to balance the left wing back to be more defensive.

But I hope we do that against Southampton. Amad RWB, Dalot or Maz LWB, Garmacho the right #10 and Bruno the left 10, behind Zirkzee hopefully.

Dalot will miss the next game due to his red card

Is that 3 assists in a row now? Could tell when he came back a few games ago he was playing with his head up and not surprised to see the assists come and provide important goals. No doubt he and others went down a selfish route.

Seems to be a lot of potential that we could be selling. A young player that can make an impact in a senior team a year or two ago and come back recently with some brilliant play straight away shows good quality.

Well it can't be Dalot after today can it!

Does the ban affect the league or just fa cup?

From the rules
"If a player is red-carded in an FA Cup tie, that carries over to the Premier League - or whatever domestic competition immediately follows their sending-off"

Fair enough, probably Malacia on the left as I'm sure Mazraoui will be rested for Brighton.
