Alejandro Garnacho (out)

Kvara going for a base fee of £58 million. We can't seriously ask for more than that if we wanted to sell Garna.

Anything under 60m is criminal. As a matter of fact, if we were the ones buying a Garnacho, considering the past couple of years he’s had, his age, his goals (including a Puskas), our fans wouldn’t flinch at the selling club demanding 60m+

Not our problem is it. When the roles are reversed and we’re the ones with the big windfall, suddenly every other club puts their prices up.

What is this madness?

We're talking about a 20 year old youth academy product who's put in brilliant numbers for his age in a struggling team, has scored exceptional goals, and is always fighting on the pitch. He even looks like he's adapting to that 'inside' role as Amorim calls it. He's got the ability and desire to be great under good mentorship, and we're selling him for peanuts to Napoli? Surely this can't be true.
I would like to think so.

What's the bonus figure? Assuming it's 10 to take them to the magic 80mil I'd imagine we can push for 60+10.

Straight value swap for Gernacho and we are talking. Can frame it as a sale both ways for PSR, we lose Gernacho who doesn't fit, and gain a top class player who wants to leave.

We could easily if Garnacho had helped us to the league on the way to numerous individual honors as well but alas...

Why it's laughable seeing people suggesting we shouldn't sell for less than Khvara's fee

Very different levels of being established around Europe for both

Social media engagement?

Who cares.

Kvara is a better footballer.
The club most certainly will. How do you think they generate the money for these players? Anyway, these are all metrics they will look at when valuing a player. That should be obvious. If marketability wasn't a thing, then players wouldn't be demanding millions every year for their image rights alone from clubs.

Ed Woodwards influence is still being felt years on

Quite glad that the days where social media metrics factor anywhere near the discussions of squad recruitment at the club are long gone

Next you'll be going on about EBITDA

You don’t lose a player like him. You build teams around players like him. Young goal scorer who performs in big games. It’s madness that you think it’s a good idea. Yes fecking crazy.
He's nowhere near as good as you're making him out to be.

Please don't compare him to Ronaldo. Different level.

He’s simply not as good of a player.
It simply doesn't matter. Maybe Napoli should be selling Kvaratskhelia for more. That isn't our problem. We know how much money Napoli now have available and it's time to take advantage, just like many clubs have done to us in the past. Napoli either pay up, or feck off. Their choice.

The idea of building our team around him is crazy and just another example of a young United player being massively overrated

Guy who got the McTominay stuff to Napoli spot on is saying Garnacho. Napoli might be pushing for it. Honestly would sell for only a really really good price, considering our money troubles and PSR.

Tell me a better young 20 year old player outside of Yamal that could replace him
Why do we need to replace him with a 20 year old player?

We need players in their prime right now. We don’t have the luxury of waiting for potential to come good.

So that reduced his fee even more.

Garnacho isn't worth as much as the reduced fee.
He absolutely is. 20 year old kid with his experience of playing for Manchester United. Argentinian International. Scoring multiple goals on the big stage - including one in the FA Cup final. Potential to kick on further. Long term contract at his club and the club themselves under no pressure to sell. That doesn't come cheap.

You forgot the social media engagment.

That's your opinion but there's no reason why our valuation of Garnacho should be dictated by Napoli's valuation of their player. There's no obligation for us to sell.

He’s simply not as good of a player.
Neither was half the players we’ve bought for around the same price and others have. We shouldn’t be looking at what others are sold for and taking our price for Garnacho from there, we should have our asking price already known and if someone is willing to pay up fine if not jog on.

I personally wouldn’t sell him anyway I think we’d come to regret it.
