Alejandro Garnacho (out)

This is so depressing. Why the feck would we sell him?? I really don't like Ineos. He's one of our most talented players! And only 20!
Sell someone else for feck sakes.

I m not against selling him, but cmon they just sold their best player. At least 50+ should be the minimum.
In a market where Kvara is worth £65-70 million, Garnacho is worth like £50-60

Kvara is the better player but Garnacho is 2-3 years younger.

We have a lot of transfer payments outstanding from recent years which is heavily reducing our cashflow.
You are worth billions, generate hundreds of millions in revenue and are owned by billionaires. If you have cashflow issues, it's because the owners are cheap bastards leeching off the club. There is no world in which Ineos can't easily fix the cash flow issue. Now if it's an issue of turnover, either you are seriously fecked, PSR is tying Ineos' hands, or they're ridiculously cheap bastards trying to leech off your club

That Jim whats his face has more than enough money to pump some more into the club. Not come in and sell one of our most talented players!

No it's because we have spent loads of money (some on the credit car) on shite players and haven't finished paying the instalments.

This!

Can't believe some fans think this should happen. Complete madness.

My issue is that I'm not sure who we can replace him with even if we generate £50-60M from his sale. Surely we'd be looking to sell Mount, Rashford, Hojlund and more before we even consider a Garnacho sale.

How is this possible?!?!? Did you seriously manage to go from the Glazers to even worse owners?!?!?!

We haven't gone from the Glazers - they still own us. We just have new co-owners, who have come in and discovered the finances of the club are an unholy shitshow.

As for Garnacho, the lad was in the top 3 of last years Golden Boy index, placing in between Joao Neves and Leny Yoro. If the starting offer isn't at least on par with the fees both those players sold for recently, we shouldn't even be entertaining it.

I like him and would be sad to see him sold, but if he doesn't fit the system and we can bank a serious transfer fee, I can see the sense in it - grudgingly.

The club has to calculate in what it would cost to get a replacement. Even £60 million is not a lot for forward positions nowadays.

Losing one of our best young players to Napoli. For financial reasons to boot. It doesn’t feel right and it makes me angry.

£50 million would be fairly appropriate if you are using that logic.

He's not going to leave for a reasonable fee unless there's a buy back clause. Otherwise it'll take stupid money. Especially in January.

I agree but it also depends on what players fit the system.

If INEOS and Amorim are wanting to play a certain system from the academy to senior level, players without the legs to run or who cant fit that style should be sold.

I think Garnacho is one of those that he's one of the last to leave but if a team gives an insane offer who says no.

Look at Julian Alvarez and City / Atletico for example.

Yoro was what £52m with a potential further £8m in addons?

Neves was around £50m but there was less time on his contract right? Garnacho for me, as an attacker who has impressed and scored goals in the Premier League, should be starting out at £60m minimum, with a healthy set of addons then.

If we want to buy in January then someone needs to go for decent money and he is one of only a few saleable options. That's the reality of the situation.

In a universe where a Mount with one year remaining on his contract is worth £60 million, Garnacho is worth at least £80 million.

I guarantee we wouldn’t be getting these lowball bids if he was playing for Chelsea or Liverpool.

I don't disagree, I would want close to £60 million for him but I think around £50-60 million would be okay.

I would suggest you go check how PSR works... before having a go at owners and cash injection.

Well this is half the problem, he wasn’t. Nobody else was going to pay it anyway.

£38m is laughable though, even as an opening offer. I wouldn’t take any less than 80 for him.

If a transfer happens then there's no way Ineos escape blame.

There may be few alternatives players to sell now, but we could simply not have signed Zirkzee in the summer. Would happily have missed his modest contribution to the team if it meant we could hang on to one of our top youth players from the last decade.

Doesn't work like that. They can't just do what they want they don't own the club.
Actually yeah, they do and can. Or at least Ratcliff and the Glazers can. Who are all billionaires in their own right(and that's even assuming turnover is bad enough they can't risk borrowing against the club's own assets)

Unless PSR stops them

It's 3 years ago and 3 years ago Kvara was playing in the Georgian and Russian leagues, he moved to Serie A the year after and the three seasons after (Which would be the next 3 seasons for Garnacho) Kvara has 59 goals and assists in 8,124 minutes which is around a goal or assist every 137 minutes and yet Garnacho in a superior league (For what this season is a less dominant team) this season has a goal or assist every 126 minutes already.

Not saying he's as good as Kvara but has always had an odd way of making things happen and he does it well.

Also Casemiro and Rashford would bring savings, even if Rashford is only a loan. Antony out on loan potentially.

We aren't going to panic sell one of our most valuable players for cheap to try and get some random player in January. Not a chance in hell. It's either stupid money for Garnacho, or reasonable money with a buy back clause, or he stays at United which is by far the most likely.

This is just a nonsense rumor about a 20 year old who was going through a rough patch of form, nothing more. I don't know why people are giving a shit source actual credibility anyway. It's a nothing story

You can't sell Garnacho for that money. That's daft.

I like him, a lot, but he is not irreplaceable. But it isn't a great look.. we retain Antony, Rasmus etc bur sell Garnacho?? If we need to get some people of the wage bill, get rid of Case, Marcus, Antony etc. Loads of deadwood there.
