Aintree Grand National 2010

i had £1 each way on Dont Push it 20/1 and won £27

i also had £2.50 each way on State of play which came 3rd, not sure how much yet

The fecking irony in J.P McManus' horse winning the national with a jockey draped in Green & Gold...

pretty much what i did but you put twice the amount on.

me, not having a clue aboot horse racing, has no idea what 'each way' means in terms of how the price is affected. can you give me some hints - i did it as am guessing it's a safeguard if the one i back doesnt come first?

Well in my instance, each way will pay up to 5 places, I think it's either 1/4 or 1/5 the odds paid plus your stake back.

They were all £2 each way bets, so that's actually a £4 stake (£2 going on the win, and £2 going on the place) so with Don't push it winning I will get back £42 for the £2 win bet and about £12 for the place as I understand it, same goes for the other two places.

That's how I understand it anyway, don't bet much myself either.

cool, that makes sense.

i reckon then i'll get £17 for don't push it and about £10 between the others. after taking off what i lost on the package i reckon i'm up about £17. not bad considering i only decided to chance it about an hour ago. if only i wasn't so stingy with the amounts i gamble!

Known McCoy since he was a lad delighted for him and had wager as well. As for the prick who owns the horse well thats a different matter

I made about £50 in the end. Each way on Big Fella and Dont push it.

Put £30 on Villa to win!

i had a tenner on black apalachi

no reason, i dont follow racing or anything it was just pure luck that he done well
