Surely there has to be more context to this? Cos on the face of it that is absolutely ridiculous.
Just seen they got knocked out with 2 goals in the last 2 minutes too.

Saudi will best Korea. They are too on form. They even beat Argentina in the world cup, prompting Cristiano to join the Saudi league.
South Korea go through on penalties. Mancini who I totally forgot was Saudi Arabia manager, walked down the tunnel way before the last kick was taken
I really hope that Zion Suzuki has been removed from our scouts' radar now. 3 games, 3 big mistakes directly leading to a goal. It's not like he has had much to do either. Surely the highest mistakes per involvement ratio I've seen from a professional goalkeeper.
Jesus Christ, Japan are so wasteful. They lead 3-1, but they could have scored 10. So many 2 on 1 situations and even alone vs the goalkeeper.
Bro that was crazy - we should have buried them with so many wasted chances. Super lucky to go through. Big blow losing Tarami. Not sure what the rules are around him appearing again should we somehow get passed Japan. Anyways, congrats! This is the best Asian Cup I can remember since 2004 one in China (farcial refereeing 20 years ago apart).
So much drama, upsets, and last minute goals and comebacks.
If there are no crazy upsets tomorrow, this is the QF brackets we're looking at:
Jordan - Tajikistan
Australia - Korea
Qatar - Uzbekistan
Iran -Japan
If only their finishing was up to the task in the remaining parts of the game.Iran through after 5 more or less perfect penalties.
Japan should be the clear favorites but their keeper is quite suspect so who knows.
Japan has the benefit of being more fresh and not having any major injuries or suspensions, I wouldn't be surprised to see them coast again iran but you never know really, should be an interesting game to watch.Iran's best striker is suspended so maybe that evens things out. But Zion has made blunders against 4 weaker teams than Iran, so I wouldn't bet on it.
So now I get why Suzuki was high on Ten Hags wishlist. He is just a worse and younger version of Onana.

South Korea struggling against Jordan. Lucky to not have conceded yet.
EDIT: penalty awarded to South Korea just as I wrote that
EDIT 2: will be overturned? Yes.
