It’s obviously not the same.People are happy to walk around with Ralph Lauren (another man's name) sprawled across them but want to turn their nose up at football shirts.

Why? Because one is a fashion designer and the other is a footballer? It’s obviously not the same.

What do we think?
My own opinion is as follows:
At a match: perfect.
Whilst playing sports/gym: fine.
At home/pub watching a match: All good.
Any other situation: wierd.
Also, the older you get, the more ludicrous you look whilst wearing another man's name on your back.
Obviously people can wear whatever they want but I reserve the right to laugh at the 45 year old wearing a tight "Gerrard 8" shirt down to Asda.
What says Redcafe? Are you a grown ass man who still rocks a replica down to Morrisons?
Each to their own if you like it wear it..I wore the 98 CL final one recently - I like that. A few of my mates wear the old Liverpool and Arsenal ones and I think they are much better than new kits.
I didn’t feel overly comfortable wearing a football top at my age in any case.
Some people can pull it off? When is she starting onlyfans? I’ll subscribe. Also, if she wore that out, I’d think of her as a bit of a pillock. I mean it’s not hard to dress appropriately, like a well adjusted human being.
Wearing jerseys out and about is chavvy as feck.
That’s exactly it.Why? Because one is a fashion designer and the other is a footballer?

She ⬇ also has an MUFC tattoo and a tongue piercing....

Yeah some, when that’s the only thing they’re wearing, incidentally.
Totally depends on the style for me.
Something like this is akin to fashion brutality:
Something like this is fine because it doesn't hurt my eyes:
I guess the PSG Messi shirt is the new PSG Neymar shirt.Hah in the US it's a way of signaling you want to talk about footy. That is until you see a PSG Messi shirt - total red flag.
Same. Got a Nephew that’s changed to Spurs and is now talking about Man City. The shame.Slightly off topic - but my nephew is now in a "phase" where he's extremely reluctant to wear anything but football gear - shirt + shorts - in any kind of setting.
My sister has a hard time trying to get him into normal clothes.
The interesting thing is that he doesn't have a favourite team.
He's essentially a full kit wanker with a stacked wardrobe (he's spoiled as feck, so gets whatever new shirt he fancies).
It is....until you put on a name and number
What is this now ? 40 + year Olds cannot admire sports personalities? Age is just a number. I don't see any problem in wearing our beloved player names on the back.

Yeah but who cares what anyone else thinks? Someone might giggle....feck them.... they are just idiots then if they are giggling at what other people are wearing.Admiration is one thing.
If you dress up like them to do your weekly food shop then people might giggle at you, that's all.
I wanted to buy the home shirt with 'Ronaldo 7' on the back. After reading this topic, now I'm not too sure.
I never knew the majority of people view this way.
Yeah he sounds like the modern fan they don’t seem to follow a club more a player, with mine it’s Gareth Bale and Harry Kane.I know. But (and this goes way beyond this particular topic, of course) he really doesn't seem to have any interest in settling for a particular team. He's totally obsessed with football - plays himself, plays FIFA all the time, wears nothing but football shirts...but it's all about individual players. He worships Lewandowski, De Bruyne, Messi (to some extent - but not that much, actually)...but he isn't in any shape or form a Bayern, City or Barca (now PSG) fan.
I find that interesting - it's 100% in line with where I imagine football "fandom" is headed.
Admiration is one thing.

Don't wear footy shirts casually anymore. Have the 2018 Germany away kit for playing football/running as it's a ruddy bluddy nice tee.
Thoughts on wearing stuff like this? acceptable?
