Not now he isn't as highly regarded, but he was very highly rated at PSG. His stock has fallen, probably in part due to his antics, whereas FDJ (who was barely mentioned by anybody prior to this saga) has somehow managed to retain his hype. Rabiot was a much more powerful and industrious player, very hard working but still a very good player. Shared similar traits to FDJ. FDJ is more elegant but harder to fit into a system because he is so niche. You can see in the videos below a bit of what Rabiot was (and hopefully still is) as a player.
He left PSG on a free at the age of 24. Did they fight tooth and nail to keep him? Juventus fans are pinching themselves that we're spending £20m on him, whereas with Barca fans they seem absolutely gutted about FDJ leaving. De Jong wasn't spoken about because nobody thought it was possible to get him. In fact the only reason he is being linked with moves away is because Barca are in dire straits financially. The two situations don't seem comparable at all.
I also find it odd that you'd use videos of his time in PSG. He's been in Italy for three years. His performances there are what we should be looking at.
