The rest of the summer aside, it’s good to see a young English international that rather obviously wants this move.

Not seen him play anywhere near enough to form an opinion but I’m happy to see a problem area filled with a renowned talent.

The name of the game should be to respect the process, more signings like this & less of the ‘superstar’ variety this summer please.

It only youtube I know, but he actually looks pretty decent but going forward in that video. Looks calm under pressure and very determined.

Can certainly see why he features high up in the stats for taking men on.

Decent fee?
What would have been too much? 70m? A million million?

In this market, 50 million for a good fullback is decent, yes, especially given the leverage Crystal Palace had.

All of twitter and half the caf were desperate for us to just give them whatever they wanted 2 weeks ago. They'd have easily given 70 million for him

We both know a lot of our fans are complete clowns though.

"Not my money", they say, seemingly not understanding there's a limited pot to buy players with

Please don't be a flop. The RB problem is finally getting taken care of

Same amount of assists last season as Meunier :p

This is a misleading stat
I'm not slagging him off - it's just says a lot about his end product right now. Can improve and should in a more attacking team :wenger:

Imagine how disappointed Muenier is feeling right now. He wanted so much to come here but we just didn't fancy him. I also think the club have played a blinder by linking themselves with the right back from Norwich to try and strengthen negotiations

I think we've got the best young defensive right back in AWB and one of the best young attacking right backs in the league today.

With the two of these guys competing for a place no doubt they'll bring the best out of each other and no doubt AWB will improve in the final third with Dalot developing defensively.

United have done well at RB and will be covered for years. Now we need to do it in several other positions.

excited by this kid, him and james, both youngsters and look like good prospects for the future. I hope they prove good enough for the premiership. Let's hope for some more promising young players joining us or even coming through the youth system and let's hope Ole can utilise them correctly. As long as we keep away from Bale, I will be able to sleep better. I would also like to see us get Aarons too and have him as another RB backup as we have Dalot too who is also young and one heck of a prospect in my eyes.

Very happy about this signing, and the fee. I was getting worried thinking they'd want £70M plus.
Ed and/or the dreaded Matt Dred has done well.

Now let's not put the lad under pressure and get negative the first mistake he makes.

Can't wait for Lingard to corrupt him
"Hey Bruv, this place is non stop bantz Bruce. You've met beans so I'm gonna call you peas. If you score this is the handshake to use with me and this one is for Pogs. See these trainers, you get them in purple and only I'm allowed wear the karma chameleon hat. Welcome to Man United peas. Oh, can you dance?"

At least you tried.

We should bring him in as well. Young can play for the reserves.

Agreed!

I would have sold Young and got this lad in. Plenty of games to go around.

Now hurry up and sell Zaha now chaps so we can get some nice cashback to go towards our other signings :)

Hope so.
But out of interest, would anyone have answered AWB if asked who was the best defensive right back in the league before our interest?

Really?! 50m sounded very high, and pretty much was the figure bandied around all summer.

The ornacle... What a joke, this was Kaveh's gig and this no mark has walked in and stolen it. Absolutely gutted for the lad.

I reeeaaaally want Klopp to play Milner at left back against AWB and James.

Prices are so inflated in the PL especially, that I'm now thinking getting a young promising player like him for a bit below £50M plus add ons is pretty good business in this climate.

Himself and James could be a fun little partnership. Serious pace there.

Yes and no.
Remembering that a right back is probably the position that is the least exciting to sign, arguably along with goalie, or holding mid.

We will have to endure another season of seeing Young in a United shirt.
A shame really.. I just don't want to see Young anywhere on the pitch:lol:

Never hurts to inject pace.
A lineup of James, AWB, Shaw, Martial, Rashford and dare I say it Lingard certainly has legs.
Keep Smalling at the back alongside Maguire :wenger: and that strikes me as good balance.

Just need to get their stamina up so we can last more than 6 games playing high intensity!

But, we were desperate for a right back. Teams could just target Young whenever they felt like it, so for us it's crucial position, and paying a bit more is ok considering his age, experience in PL etc.

You were so close to making me imagine lovely things
