Aaron Wan-Bissaka out for up to two months

Who the feck is on our physio and medical team. The amount of muscular injuries is insane.

All these muscular injuries prove our preseason was full of crap. We weren't physically ready to start the season at all.

I'm just wondering who's next and how much damage we would have to endure before we have a healthy squad again.

When are the other players out expected to be back? Someone mentioned Varane and Amrabat are expected back soon, but what about:

Mount
Shaw
Malacia
Mainoo
Amad

We played a lot of games last season, with little rotation. Likely physical burnout is the consequence. Preseason training methods/intensity are also a little bit in question now.

This season is obviously a write off, it will be a season like Chelsea had last season, maybe slightly better. Too many injuries, problems on and off the pitch.
There will likely be no European football at all next season, so we will be able to concentrate on the league more.

I don't know if ETH will survive this season, and I suppose parasites will stay as owners - nothing is resolved and it's been total silence from journalists for months now.

When it rains, it pours.

This club is like no other. I’d there one thing we actually excel at?

Well that and ETHs refusal to rotate even in dead rubber games last season. Bound to come and bite him in the ass.
Will never forget playing our strongest team in the return leg against Nottingham last year where even they did not see it necessary to field any of their best players.

Oh well, Dalot time to shine. Hopefully he can get better at defending with a good run of games.

Awful reason to get injured though, poor player management. Pressure is getting to the playing staff because I doubt the player took no caution when everyone was deciding to bring him on or not

This is what we did before the treble winning season.

Friendlies. Manchester United played four pre-season matches ahead of the 1998–99 campaign, starting with a 4–3 defeat away to Birmingham City. They then went on a three-match tour of Scandinavia, starting with a 2–2 draw against Vålerenga, before comprehensive wins over Brøndby (6–0) and Brann (4–0).

Yea, I'd like to see ETH improve on rotating his players and his in-game management. His game management against Brighton was pathetic to say the least and got me questioning him for the first time in his tenure.

Is this bad luck or is this something systematic that we are doing wrong?

Good thing we brought in Reguilon so that we can at least move Dalot back to RB. And there were people saying that an emergency LB wasn’t needed

I know at least 2 of these games were back to back so the same players were not used but it begs the question, why do we play so many games?

Is it the manager or greedy owners thinking of how much money it is going to pull in with ticket sale and TV rights.

It was equally the same last year too. City played 4 games and we played 8. Pretty sure its the owners/business people thinking about money.

Amrabat is an option too, apparently.

Please don’t waste another signing by playing him out of position ffs! Questions have to be asked of our medical team. One of the biggest teams in the world and we’ve got injuries left right and centre.

This is pretty much it, almost every manager has complained about pre season being driven by commercial interests. LvG and Mou were particularly scathing about it.

Looks like this random account has actual sources then...

Said Malacia is a couple of months away, mount another week, Shaw a couple months, Mainoo a few weeks

You have to ask serious questions about the facilities and sports science department. Beyond a joke. That’s 5 starters out :wenger:

feck, man. This season has been a write-off since the start. Having a strong second half of the season will be such a boost

Would love to know how much has been spent on this at other clubs or is going to be and comparison of the facilities. Bet some put us well to shame.

What’s interesting over the years is how many players we’ve heard about wanting to do rehab away from the club. Pogba, Bastian etc.

It definitely sounds like Malacia and Shaw are a while away -- hence the desperation on Reguilon/Cucurella. Mainoo would be a really welcome addition. As green as he is, I really do think he has something from a profile perspective that nobody else in the midfield can offer.

They probably just their own people, but it also says a lot if not done in conjunction with the club.
I listened to Phil Brown’s podcast yesterday and he was saying that some players have said we are in the dark ages in terms of our medical and sports science departments. Worrying.

The worst thing is you see it translate onto the pitch. I feel we’ve lacked intensity and played lethargic for the better part of a decade. Under multiple different managers too.

Sorry trust their own people. The owners do not want to spend and have taken money out for years that could have improved the facilities no end. Also paying stupid wages to the likes of Ronaldo for social media clicks.

It's happening way too often to be bad luck. We seem to have an excessively amount of injuries most seasons
