He should always start ahead of Dalot in these kind of games when the team needs to be tight in the back.
 
Those trademark tackles are so exciting to watch. Had no business getting to the ball yet he always did. ASM was visibly rattled before he was subbed out.
 
Brilliant. For games like this as long as he isn’t challenged aerially there’s nobody better in world football and destroying an opponents left flank
 
ASM will see this man in his nightmares.

I love watching AWB tackle. He makes it look so easy.
 
I thought it was real interesting that he drifted to the center of the pitch high up a couple times (one of which led to that counter attack chance) like a number 10. It caught Newcastle off guard once and probably would have resulted in a goal if AWB picks a pass left instead of going to Weghorst. Either way, great performance as a sub tonight.
 
For wingers like ASM, this guy is perfect. Yellow aside, I thought Dalot did fine too but AWB locked it down
 
One of the best tacklers I’ve seen, I mean he’s pretty much mastered it at this point.

He's in contention for MotM despite not playing first half.

Currently better than Dalot. At least in these kind of games.
 
I've criticised him heavily in the past but Christ, those tackles are orgasmic. Fair fecking play to him, completely different player when he's playing with confidence and under ten Hag.
 
After hardly playing for the first few months he’s been class since he’s been back. One of the best one on one defenders out there.

Probably because Howe took off Saint Maximin as Wan Bissaka was destroying him and didn't bother putting anyone on that wing after, so wan Bissaka was free to roam
 
Completely shut down the Right hand side and Maximin started overthinking his every move. This helped keep Fred on the left and shut down Almiron-Trippier partnership which caused us some problems in the first half.
 
He was immense when he came on. Kinda gutted that no goal came from his defending from the front. Won the ball back early a few times and started attacks, thought he was just fantastic.
 
He was my MOTM. Superb display at the back which was the most important thing today. Day and night to Dalot in the first half.
