What the hell was he doing for their goal? Something like that can potentially undo all the good work he does.

A really good performance nearly spoiled by some amateur defending on that free kick.

Made up for his sleepiness at the free kick with a great clearance about 5 minutes later. His confidence needs to grow going forward as when he does it, he’s actually pretty good!

Much better today going forward.

He is mostly to blame for the second goal though, he should have got back in position instead of trying to stop the free-kick being taken.

Otherwise good all round performance.

loved his urgency going forward today, more of that please

if you make penetrating runs beyond their back-line you can hurt teams, you don't need to be an amazing crosser (eg Evra)

His interview on sky just now was hilarious. He's like a little puppy

Played a lot better today but my god he is absolutely brainless.

I can’t believe his positioning on that free Kick. Grealish standing wide open in the LW position and he was completely blind to it.

made up for it though with that last ditch tackle at the back post.

Poor for their goal, but thought he was really good today overall.

Feck me though, that interview. 1/10.

Mitten has said loads that he’s really shy and not good with the media. Pretty sure that’s the first time he’s done it.

Wow what an awkward interview with him at the end

Best part was Geoff asking him “What happened on Aston Villa’s goal?”

He replied “Which goal?” (They only scored one)

He’s a brilliant defender but an awful interviewee!

Much better than last few games that's for sure. Good assist as well. Didn't do well in the goal but overall he's improving.

Is anybody watching this post match

The man asked “what goal was that sorry” about Villa’s only goal - this guy must be high, random drugs test incoming.

Think some credit needs to go to Rashford for that too. He encourages Shaw to get forward much more often too when he plays, because he draws in players and often plays the cute passes into space. Greenwood doesn’t really do that at all, he ghosts through games and often plays the ball back where it comes from. When you have someone ahead of you that’s just making your life easier it does give you the confidence to take those chances more often.

That interview was wholly uncomfortable.

Here's a question for everyone: how sustainable is his play style? How many years can he go on committing, over-stretching and generally hooking players with those legs?

Yeah, he looked really nervous and out of his comfort zone plus had adrenaline pumping through him after just finishing an intense match.

Should've done better for their goal but this has to be his best attacking performance for us at least.

Assist and some superb combinational pass exchange with Rashford, Martial and Bruno.

Went forward against well coached team and did a lot.

I can't stop rewinding and watching that interview again and again

I was laughing so hard when he made that excellent cross.

Just prove me wrong any time any day, boy. I'd gladly take them all.

He was standing over the ball. He blocked one attempt at a quick free. If the other eejits standing beside him had taken the fecking hint we’d have been fine.
Nope, you get back in your position and argue from there. His man was standing there free for about 6 seconds and not once did he switch on.

what the hell was he thinking? School boy defending.
