This makes me very happy. With the exception of Millionaire Hot Seat, which didn't make me want to go postal if it happened to be on despite being histed by Eddie Maguire, the death of the rest is a service to humanity. There is still some notable garbage being made, Married at First Sight being the main turd in the pan. But little steps.

My wife is addicted to Australian Masterchef and has been watching from the beginning, she’s now on season 5, it’s a nuts competition. It’s like our master chef has been taken and cross bred with big brother and then pumped full of steroids and speed.

Please don't kill off Border Patrol. Can't get enough of middle-aged Asian women who goes mental when they aren't allowed to bring their personal grocery store into the country.

Some of these are beign bought up by the minor channels over here, I thought our TV was plumbng the depths, but some of these shows are cringeworthy.
I do like Bordere patrol though, seeig how your guys deal with people who really are daft enough to try and get past customs, one where an Asian lady (Chinese I think) was trying to bring in masses of dead frogs into the country, and already they were turning green!

Always enjoy watching that now. The bald one going on about how they're all a family and how important it is to support each other, whilst knowingly underpaying the staff in his restaurants. Brings a tear to the eye.

Is The Block still going? We watched a bit of that when travelling in Aus and it was pretty good for a reality show.

Is The Traitors cancelled? I thought the Australia one was the best version

The food is usually still alive or full of bugs half the time. We love the show too!

I think you are about half a decade behind. The next set of judges were very popular but that mostly changed when Jock Zonfrillo died young last year. The new set of judges has just started in the current season. No idea how they are going as I have seen close to zero of it. Not that I was a big watcher before, just not so terrible that I wouldn't necessarily turn over if it was all that was on.

Nah I'm up to date, just go back and watch the older seasons sometimes.

Only another 11 to go. Maybe I have forgotten what it was like (and I only watched occasionally) but the only reason I din't despise it is that it avoided the usual reality TV drama crap, and tends not to be unkind to anyone. If it is that exciting in comparison I suspect that the UK version is a snorefest.

Since nobody gets paid, and they make it with one cameraperson with a iPhone, it is very cheap to make, so may never get cancelled. It gets very boring though. Idiots breaking biosecurity regulations and getting a slap on the wrist, a few drug smugglers and the odd "I came to see my daughter, if I'd declared my murder conviction from decades ago you might not have left me in". Rinse and repeat.

It generally is, though one line from a judge in Masterchef the professionals will stick with me for ever..

"you make me hate my job, making me eat food like this!"

I binged on Survivor during Covid, was that ever found out to be fixed, like they were never in any real danger of starving?

It’s quite sad the amount of shit that gets broadcast on free to air television. Reality tv was a niche market once upon a time. Now it is the market on free to air.

as much as streaming is kinda expensive now, the quality of programming has killed off the high volume of American crap like ncis, csi or shit like that. Low energy high volume tv shows designed to do nothing more than fill space on a program slot.

My wife and I was Masterchef Australia regularly. We love it, specially the new judges. The last 3 seasons were underwhelming though.

The bald has been long gone with other 2 judges. Totally new judges in the show now.

MAFS produces new "influencers" every year, similarly to how the UK Love Island does over there. It just seems like every year; you have one or two of them develop their own little cults who buy everything they push.

As long as they leave 'Lego Masters" alone the rest can go.

I applied for the first ever series of Bear Grylls Island, and I got down to the last 100. I would've loved to have gone on that.

It was just after my divorce and so I properly played up to that, hoping the X-Factor type sob story would carry me to a tropical island, but alas, it didn't. I still think I would've been great at that (although in reality I'd have been terrible as last night, I took myself to bed early as a I had a sniffle and I was properly moaning about it. I also am a fat bastard so no food would've done me in).
