Okay guys, which lineup do you think I should take?

Think I am leaning towards the bottom one as Denilson didn't get a great response after I had picked him and also I like the idea of a Edmundo - Ronaldo partnership.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't argue with this. Fowler though when he came onto the scene during his first two or three seasons was a sensation for Liverpool. One of the most exciting prospects of the 1990s, with a superb range of finishing. He may not have made any teams of the season, but there was plenty of clamour for him to replace Shearer as England's number 9 prior to Euro 96. That was the same Alan Shearer who'd scored 111 goals in the previous three seasons.

Di Natale too he's been excellent every time I've watched him in the last three years. Both are strikers who would no doubt bury any chances which came their way. Most of the forwards chosen earlier on though are perhaps more capable of creating opportunities for themselves.
 
I like the 2nd one mate.

Edmundo offering the wide outlet in number one simply doesn't seem right. The attacking fullback option is better.

Sorry I can't do business with you regarding Serginho... even if you have tried tapping him up with Ronaldo offering him various food stuffs from around the continent.

What type of set up are you both thinking of then?

I appreciate what you are saying about Rui Costa. I could play him in his classic 10 role if I dropped Ortega to the bench, although he is well capable of playing CM and has done throughout his career.

The idea was transfer activity would take place before the draw. Draw is done so the window is closed.

Not that much happened with that despite so many being interested.

I dont think any transfers are taking place so could start it even earlier - tomorrow?

Im actually going away on Friday so probably wont see the end of it anyway.

So if I were to mention a couple of players I'm quite surprised to see undrafted(albeit not overly so as I expected I would be able to get them low if I had too)....could people still swap for them?

Alright, we'll start it up once everyone's PM'd me their teams and stuff or just posted them in here with the tactics and all that ready to be copied and pasted. As soon as the 8 teams from the first two groups get things done we'll start.
 
Well then, I'll take that can't swap from Jayvin as gospel.....I think Brian should of picked either Nakata or Zahovic or even Juninho Paulista(still up at the time) over Gudjohnson.

I think the first two at their peaks(at least for their national sides) were far superior to alot picked in the final rounds, I would of got one instead of Kewell, but needed the inside forward more than another centrally exclusive player where I already have Deco and Totti doing their thing.
 
I considered Nakata. There's a few other players i'm a little suprised weren't picked as well, such as Adrian Mutu, Djalminha, Joao Pinto, Christian Worns, Christian Karembeau.

Will PM you within 4 hours, can't do the graphics thing right now. Also, does anyone else think it might be worth having just two games per match day as opposed to four? Would mean having more of a discussion and response in the two open threads. Having four means a couple always get ignored.

I seriously considered Nakata but he was rarely more than a sub for most of his club career so I went for Di Matteo instead

Vincente was born in 80's.
 
For the first game, gonna go with Totti in the false 9 position as Rood doesn't seem to use wingers, so it's going to be a midfield game so I want Sousa and Senna holding with Deco roaming about the middle dictating it all, Totti dropping back will allow both Kewell and Etxeberria to cut inside and both are more than capable of scoring doing as well as being consistent creators for Totti.

Think Thuram and Marquez are more than capable of dealing with his forwards with Kaladze also capable of dropping into the centre to help with Rivaldos prowess, where the most danger comes from for me, thus why I've crowded that area with both Sousa and Senna, who aren't shy to getting a foot in.
