Godfrey is interesting. There is so much hype but every time I watch Norwich he does not match that hype. Maybe Rio is the best person to advise Ole if he'll be worth taking a punt on considering he's mentoring Godfrey.
Ole needs to spend in January in order to progress this side quicker.
I wouldn't spend on a attack midfielder yet and probably give Pogba that position for rest of the season.
In January get a deep lying playmaker to control the game aka Carrick and a Right winger who scores and assists.

We can get Grealish for £45mil and we can get him in January but Ole want's Maddison. Problem with Maddison is we can only get him in the summer and then we face two problems. Will Leicester let him go and will he accept a move to us?
Bruno is another player I would love to get but to be honest, I am not sure his play style will work in PL. He seems a bit lazy/ like Pogba but I might be wrong.
I would go for Grealish now and fight for top 4 and winning the EL. We really, really need a new nr 10. Midfield is not a problem if we don't have injuries. Matic is not good enough but he can still be a good backup. Fred is brilliant and McT as well but there is no creativity. If Pogba is fit, he can play as nr 10 or CM. We need to face reality and right now we can’t expect too much in January therefore we should aim for crucial positions.
Getting Haaland will solve the nr 9 role. I have seen Haaland in many matches this season and his play style will work in any league. We need someone in front of the goals when James crosses and Martial never is. Haaland is fast and love to score. Half of his goals comes from crosses and that will just continue in United. His not technical like Martial, can’t dribble but he will score goals. With Haaland and Martial we have two completely different attackers.

I don’t see us signing Sancho. Those 3 in the summer would be great, maybe supplement that with a couple more midfield depth signings if Pogba goes. Continue binning off the deadwood like Lingard and Mata, and we’re good to go. Wouldn’t cost the earth either.

I don't expect us to sign anyone. We've won our last two games, Ed is reactionary and at present there's nothing to react to.
You could well be right on that but I really hope you are wrong as our squad is very thin and a couple of injuries or suspensions and we'll be in the sh!te
I doubt Ed will be making decisions on every result. We are 5th currently and 4 pts away from a team that will definitely be spending in January. The signings or transfer discussion would be ongoing for weeks and if the players Ole and co. have identified are unavailable then probably we won't sign.

Although we shouldn't panic buy but wait for our targets to be available in the summer, if the aim is top 4 then a creative midfielder is a necessity. Paredes on loan is a good shout. He's one of the very good passers in Europe and his ability will be useful in breaking down low blocks.

These are actually all a really good shout. Mertens in particular would I think be perfect for us right now. Talented, experienced, can planyh a number of positions, and in his 30's so not likely to block the development of our younger lads coming through.
I would be nervous about taking a player on loan though with Paredes...
We simply have to make a couple of signings in the January window because the squad is already so thin and is very likely to suffer burnout around February/March time. The worrying thing is that we are only one injury to Rashford/Martial away from having to play them out of their natural position again meaning we aren't able to get the best out of them.

Not sure how all three of these transfers are realistic.

If there's one top notch player we should go for, that would be Sancho. The guy is 19 and with the shortage of top notch RW in the market, I would go all in to get him wrapped up. Secondly, I would strengthen our midfield with smart captures with the likes of Soumare who looks like Pogba's heir. Thirdly, we need a playmaking creative attacking midfielder and I think Grealish or Olmo could fit that mold.
Sancho would cost perhaps around 100 - 120m

I don't think getting a striker would be all that important if we got a creative RW and a creative AM. Those two positions would be enough to provide us with the goals that a 20 goal striker would provide.

Do people know what realistic means? I don’t get the arrogance of our fan base to keep listing Sancho.
As much as I would like to see Kalvin Phillips join United, I just don't see Leeds letting him go to United and not sure we're an attractive club in terms of being competitive. But those options are good. Although, Eriksen and Grealish would essentially be playing the same position.
Sancho is realistic in the sense we need a RW and he's the RW we need. He's young and English and that's what United have been targeting lately. Lastly, he's the sort of marquee signing we'll need for shirt sales if we lose Pogba in the summer. So yeah, he's realistic in a way assuming we make CL next season.
Eriksen could be a great player to rotate with McTominay, depending on the opposition. I think Eriksen will go to Juventus though. Grealish could perhaps replace Pogba, if he leaves at the end of the season.
And yes Leeds will sell to anyone but us if they sell. So Rice or Longstaff more likely.
True, loan usually means the player isn't doing so well or needs game time and he will also have to adapt quickly to the league.
For Paredes I think we just need his passing ability really, he might not be solid defensively but his passes can help break down those park the bus teams. We usually have much of the ball facing those teams so he can easily shine there. He'd be a good stop gap till someone like Kalvin Phillips becomes available

3 Goals and 3 assists in CL this season. Works hard and very technical player who can hold onto the ball as a nr 10.
Ruben Dias can be one of the best CB in the world. Strange that we haven't bought him already. I said to my friends when Van Dijk played at Celtic "we should buy him" They replied "His not PL proven".. yeah right. Dias can be a new Van Dijk get
him now before someone else buys him.

Proper number 9 that gives us something we don't have at the moment. I predict if we don't sign him then we'll want him within a year or two for £90m.

We need quantity and quality. 6-7 players to the mould of Haaland (prior of joining Dortmund), Kulusevski, Olmo, Kalvin Phillips, Tonali and co, who are hungry for success and won't cost a fortune. We could mix that with experience such as Emre Can who wouldn't cost us a fortune. Unfortunately Woodward had already stated that the club can't handle more then 3 signings per summer.
Therefore I'd say

b- Bruno Fernandes/Zaniolo
c- Daniel Olmo

Phillips and Tonali shouldn't cost more then 20m-30m, Kulusevski is said to be moving to Juve for 30m, Olmo should be around 40m, Bruno should cost 60m and I can see Zaniolo moving on the same lines.
