Walking in a whisky wonderland.
It's that time of the year again.

Spin's predictions for the weekend:

Wales to kick England's arse in Cardiff
France to demolish Scotland in Paris
Ireland to mug Italy in Rome

Ireland for the Grand Slam.

Yes Plech

I was a bit overenthusiastic on the French there... but that's the nature of their rugby isn't it? Either they're incredible, or they're shite. Their main problem is that their kickers aren't very good... Delaigue was rubbish mostly this game, and Michalak tends to lose concentration when it matters

Losing to Wales eh
Wales are looking good this year. England have had too many retirements, and the new Welsh system seems to be throwing up kids like Gavin Henson, who seems to have had a good game (I've not seen the match yet).

They'll lose to Ireland though.

Right er... maybe not

O'Driscoll's gone off injured, and the Irish forwards were outmuscled by the Italians.

Maybe France will do the Grand Slam instead.

Yeah i can see the Scottish pack giving the irish a hard time at murrayfield. I honestly have no idea who will win the Six Nations. Ireland were my bet aswell but now it looks like it could go anyones way.

After the mighty Wales's demolition of feeble England it is surely they who will take the honours in this, the most important sporting event of the year. Us celts are seen by many as superior beings, I don't think anyone can disagree

To be honest England aren't very good at the moment. Tait choked.

I wouldn't big up Welsh chances against the Irish backs (if O'Driscoll is fit - today he needed 2 yards of space, and he set up 2 tries). And if Wales meet the real France I don't think that they have the defending to stop them. And of course, in Rome your forwards will have trouble against the Italians - today they were bloody good. Shame their backs aren't very effective.

To be honest I think your right, our fowards are ok, but nothing special, and our backs, with whom I placed our hopes, failed to capitalise on having decent overlaps on their left hand side at least 4 times in the 1st half, this despite the fact we were getting the ball out and moving it at a decent speed. Defensively we were solid, but not really tested, I think we will be against the likes of France and Ireland.

We're still miles better than feeble England though, who were shite and slow at everything

No team has stood out after the first round of games,

most peoples pre-tournament favourites Ireland were unimpressive against the Italian whipping boys plus they've lost O'Driscoll and Darcy to injury

Right lads

Get your predictions in for Saturday

Scotland vs Ireland (Murrayfield)
Italy vs Wales (Stadio Flaminio)
England vs France (Twickenham)

Ireland to beat Scotland by at least 3 penalties
Wales to beat Italy narrowly
France to beat miserable England by quite a lot

Right both O'Driscoll and D'Arcy named in the starting 15 against Scotland with O'Connor in for the appalling Leamy (bring back David Wallace!). No centers have been named as replacements as yet.

I am hoping this is not what is going to happen on Saturday. Thursday training should gauge the fitness of both BOD and D'Arcy but O'Sullivan would be mad to put them both out gainst the Scots. He should play a natural inside centre like Maggs along side one of the two lads.

Oh and O'Sullivan, while your at it drop Horgan and never ever let him put on a green shirt gain. The guy is a feckin tit. He couldn't catch a cold!

You feeble English will never understand, as you are too feeble to comprehend.

Expect mighty Wales to destroy the pizza eaters, whilst feeble England are beaten by some insignificant team from somewhere other than Wales

Listen you Welsh tosser (;)), don't ever call me English!

We're going to beat your sheep-shaggin, self-castrating arses in the last game to win Triple Crown, Grand Slam, Championship!

Amen brother

Heh heh, England are embarrasingly crap.

The mighty Welsh dragon marches onwards

They should make it the 9 nations so that South Africa, NZ and Autralia could fight it out between themselves with the occasional fluke win by a Northern hemisphere team like the last World Cup.

The Irish will have a few tough games ahead of them. still n'all they're in a better position than England, for now.

c'mon the boys in green.

Its encouraging though.

When they needed the backs against Italy they shone. When they needed the forwards against Scotland they were magnificent.

For the next three games we are going to need every man on the pitch playing to his best.

here in the US we have to pay $20 to watch a game so as usual I'm being selective in my viewing. havent watched any games yet but I have to watch the Ire/Eng game though and we'll see how it goes after that.

Ireland Vs England should be some game, Ireland as a team are starting to peak while England are on a slight downward slope, perhaps inevitable.

The English are dangerous when wounded but Ireland won't need any motivating for a game against the 'oul enemy and should shade it on home soil.
