5% Season Ticket Price Rise For 2025/26

I mean, I get what MUST are trying to do here, but in my opinion, threatening the club by saying that x amount of fans are not happy and won’t renew is not going to work.

They want those types of fans not to renew.

They want to phase out legacy fans that are more price sensitive and they know that the season ticket will be snapped up by someone who is likely to spend more, not just on the season ticket itself, but while at Old Trafford too.
It's hardly 'threatening the club' - MUST did a survey and are simply presenting the findings to the club to give them an idea of fan sentiment

The club have u-turned more than once on ticketing policies after pressure from fan groups

Perhaps a better word for me to use would be “leverage”. I’m not sure that their data around fans not renewing season tickets would give us that much leverage when it comes to getting the club to back track.

If they do back track, it will be for PR purposes surely. They know that there will always be someone else to fill the seat of those who do not renew.

Is there any clarification on whether the hospitality seats near the dugouts are additional hospitality or are they being moved from another part of the ground?

Inflation has been very disruptive for the past few years and is real. Many of you are involved in businesses that have raised prices and, in many cases, your wages considerably since 2021. Many of you buy products that have seen substantial price increases. Yet, you didn't protest your company raising prices, and you didn't protest the local grocery store price increases. The business that is Manchester United has to raise prices like everyone other business to reflect the reality of inflation. It sucks, but protesting seems pretty childish.

Well said, especially post COVID and Ukraine war everything had increased in prices even essential necessities.

You clearly haven't understood the reasons fans are protesting, no one has called for a protest since the 5% rise was announced

Without the previous protests and lobbying from fan groups, it would probably have been much worse though

I don’t have any clarification, but understanding that the club see hospitality and dynamic pricing as something that will bring the club ‘much needed’ revenue, it is likely these seats will be in addition to what is already on offer.

The executive club etc… is well subscribed.
Plus, when you look at the packages for seasonal hospitality, there is a great interest in the seats that are in the BC and SAF Stands.

If I recall correctly, you can get free food / drink and a seat in the quads for the same price as a paid bar and food for the padded seats in the North and South stands.

The Americanisation of the sport. Best seats in the house.

Well said. Especially when Man Utd's ticket prices are comparatively still cheaper than many other clubs.

You’ve just ‘well said’ his same post twice now Yakuza.

Calling anyone that feels strongly enough about anything, ‘childish’ for protesting, is wide of the mark.

Confirmed now that they are additional

How many seats (behind the home and away dugouts) are they turning into hospitality seats?

"A total of 600 seats will be affected. About 50 of these are the result of
required changes to the dugouts to meet competition rule changes"

Where is that quote from? Also surely they can't transform 550 standard seats into 550 hospitality seats? Or am I imagining these hospitality seats to be something other than just your standard sized seats with no bells and whistles to take up more space?

I think they are just standard seats with lounge / box / warehouse access depending on hospitality level paid. But not confirmed.

Bit of a pisstake really considering how shit of a matchday experience it is. Get there early and instead of having the earlier kickoff on the concourse tvs, they'll have MUTV on with the speakers on low volume so you can all stand there and watch Wes Brown talk into a microphone without knowing what he's saying. Overpriced bottles of carling is the only beer they offer iirc.

Go out to your seats to watch the players warm up and they'll have some awful grime music playing loudly on the stadium speakers, which is paused every few minutes whilst the stadium announcer reads out birthday requests like he's reading off a shopping list. If the weather is bad then there's a chance the leaking roof will drench your seat and give you a wet arse.

Unless of course you have any interest in buying their expensive merchandise in the megastore (I haven't been inside there since I was a child).

If that was a pub experience then you'd give it a 1 star review.

I always try to time it right so I can get there 10-15 minutes before kickoff but traffic can be difficult to predict. Sometimes I'm there over an hour before kickoff and bored out of my mind scrolling through my phone.

However, according to Ratcliffe, our season ticket prices shouldn't be cheaper than Fulham's.

Am I imagining it or did they show the earlier games a few years back? I've not bothered getting to the ground any earlier than 15 mins before KO for at least the last 8 years. If I drive I'll time it to get there on the dot, and if I get the train/tram down I'll have a pint at pretty much anywhere but the ground.

Also don't forget that the seats are designed for people who are at most 5ft tall. What's not to love about paying £60 to have your shins smashed by the back of a chair every time the guy in front sits down or leans back?

It was tolerable when the football was decent, but I can see myself reselling even more of my tickets next season to recoup some of that price increase.

Nah, you're not imagining things. They used to show the earlier games up until around covid. It used to generate a big crowd, especially if one of our rivals were playing, but for some reason they decided it made more financial sense to broadcast MUTV on low volume instead. The only constructive thing they've done since then is add WiFi to the stadium so now I can check score updates on my phone.

The increase isn’t the massive issue to most fans. Like Jim mentioned about inflation (2.5%) which is a fair point… but Jimflation is 5%??

Also the wording on the email announcement was appalling. Basically saying the clubs losing money so the fans should pay. You’d think the multibillionaire guys who run it into this state would?
The fans are paying for the overpriced fees and wages of Antony, Sancho and Mount. The fans are paying for renewing then sacking ETH, the fans are paying for the hiring and firing of Ashworth…
An increase can be accepted but Jim (and let’s face it. He’s the one behind it) has gone about this horrendously.
