I had visions of a Simeone and Souness Midfield. Would have been awful to play against

I think Dinho-Rivellino-Garrincha is way more balanced than Dinho-Pele-Garrincha. Think Ronaldinho and Garrincha will get to offer a lot more in this team.

Don't get me wrong, that logic doesn't work in draft games and almost everyone would go for Pele there, but personally, I like this more.

I'll probably open another thread for this considering is a huge debate surrounding Pele, and to me his overall contribution to the midfield at his peak is really understated.

Cheers mate. Tried finding a bit of a balance between them. Need one more piece to flesh out what I had in mind, and may still tweak it a little more depending on how the picks all play out.

doesnt Rivelino pretty much play in the same zone as Dinho? Think id prefer Pele going from a purely tactical reason so we ignoring the quality gap between the two

Not really. The club version (best version) of Rivellino was way more closer to the likes of Rivera (plus a lot more flair) than Dinho. Not even close IMO.

dont know, barely watched brazilians(feck knows why) so the only games i saw him are the ones from WC 70

The 70 version was him playing in a makeshift role.

His full club games are not that many, but there are decent highlights. But the 1974 version played as an AM for Brazil. It wasn't a great WC for them of course.
 
Both Rivelino and Ronaldinho like to occupy the central/slightly left to central attacking zone and only use the flank when they want to stretch the opposition and create some more space. Ronaldinho wasn't a winger by any stretch of imagination (say in the same vein as Garrincha for example) and pretty much all of his greatest contributions came when he moved in centrally and played as an out and out playmaker. Of course he could go out wide if needed and give the fullback a run around for the fun of it, but when the penny dropped he'd always be buzzing into the heart of the game and opening teams up from there.

Of course the two of them being as great as they are could work together well but I wouldn't say it is an incredibly natural fit even when considering Rivelino's club contributions and there's definitely a potential of the two overlapping and only one of them being at their absolute best to impact the game freely. If you'd ask me how it will pan out based on their natural games and tendencies, I'd imagine Rivelino making way for Dinho to do his magic from the inside while being the foil around him, putting in a more defensive shift on the wing and spending a lot of the time in making sure Dinho gets the ball in the most dangerous spaces on the pitch.

I had this impression too, but I don't think Rivellino when played as the CAM, had a preferred side. Some of his best moves or goals have come from the right side. I swear I had gifs. Will try and share later
