Why this thread now?? FFS
That was the FA Cup, not PL.
Ah, didn't realise it didn't include the FA Cup.Different competition.
SorryWhy would you even post that
Which team is going to bring that to an end? It’s going to be Everton now right?
Because it would have been a late Utd equaliser that would have kept the record in tact? We’re discussing which game would have been close to losing the record. How would a last minute equaliser matter?

Absolutely nailed on it will be a game that ended 2-2.
Oh dear….bless you. This is a joke thread but we surely lost with Van Gaal when we went through all those 0-0s at half time?
I appreciate the irony. Please back up your reasoning.Oh dear….bless you.
It's a bit higher than this, OP title is from July 2022, the below is from February 2023.
I hope you’re not serious? I worry you are.I appreciate the irony. Please back up your reasoning.
Good point! I remember in the Moyes era, teams that hadn't won in OT for 30, 40, 50 years were now all of a sudden filling their boots! Unbeaten records falling all over the place!I would say how has that record lasted through Jose, LVG, Ole, Rangnick, Moyes etc. But probably because under at least three of those we were extremely unlikely to be leading at half time in the first place.
It’s not too surprising when you think under Moyes and Ragnick, we’d normally concede first and lose or score first but concede an equaliser before half time. The stat does need to be put into context.Good point! I remember in the Moyes era, teams that hadn't won in OT for 30, 40, 50 years were now all of a sudden filling their boots! I'm also amazed this record predates even the Fergie era, to a time in the mid 80s when United teams were extremely erratic to say the least!
Ironically that 4 4 draw when Fellaini scored twice after we were 4 1 upAnyone got any idea what’s the closest we came to losing that record?!
I think Everton’s game last season was probably closer as they actually got a winner but had it disallowed in 85th minute.Ironically that 4 4 draw when Fellaini scored twice after we were 4 1 up
Yes didnt think of that one.I think Everton’s game last season was probably closer as they actually got a winner but had it disallowed in 85th minute.
But yeah Everton have come close twice now.
I swear to the lord if this goes now....
you better pray

Or even exist?Came in here to post exactly this.
OP should never be allowed to create another thread again. Ever.
I was kind of hoping for an Everton equaliser before half time to save my skinyou better pray
You can go as well if Everton win.So guaranteed we won’t lose then?
Actually the closest it’s got to going in recent years was Everton last season. 1-0 up at half time, they scored in the 85th min to make it 1-2, but it was disallowed.
The irony is I think Everton might just well have been the last team to genuinely come close to breaking the record (honestly didn’t time this with them in mind tomorrow).
We were winning 1-0 at half time last season before Townsend equalised and then Mina scored a winner for Everton in the 85th minute only for VAR to rule it marginally offside.
