I wouldn't water the team down, I'd keep going and build a spirit of togetherness between our best players.... our goals are in sight, defining moments and all that. We'll win every game if we set our minds to it!
Do you really think that? We already look like we're running on empty. Every team we play has had a longer rest than us. Plus on top of that we're travelling to London and back 3 times in succession. Chelsea have had 2 days extra rest so they should be fresher. Then West Ham will have had 2 days extra with nothing to lose. And they love bursting our bubble. Finally we rock up to Leicester when they've had almost a week to prepare and we've had 3 days. The fact every team has had more rest than us is going to make every one of these games harder. Not to mention the cumulative effect of playing so many games in succession. I just can't imagine that playing our full first team in the cup today could do anything other than run them into the ground and possibly risk injury. And if that happens rather than build a spirit of togetherness our dreams could come crashing to the ground. I hope I'm wrong. But I also hope Ole rests a few of our top 5 today. It's time for Fred and McTominay. Give Bruno / Pogba a rest. Rest Martial and Greenwood. Play Ighalo up top with pace either side (Rashford for 60 mins) James perhaps, or even Lingard to get amongst them. He's usually way better against big teams. Williams on the left. Not sure if TFM can play another game so quickly, so perhaps Dalot. Or maybe James and Wilson as wingback could work. Either way, please dont run us into the ground, Ole!
