Bloody hell thats a lot of money for a player whos last bit of magic was against arsenal in the FA Cup Semi all those years ago.
Would be sad to see him go but it seems that Richardson will be stealing his position very soon.
Giggs is the best winger in the world when hes on fire but its been a while since weve seen some magic from him for a while
any thoughts

Here we go again, there's that feckin stupid word.

If we were offered 25m for him I'd take it.

A lot of people have become frustrated with Ryan. He remains a great player and as Fergie said if he can stay injury free and have a good run in the side you'll see him back to his best. It's all very well talking about exhorbitant fees but who would we get to replace him ? There are not many candidates if any who you would consider to be better in his posiiton.

Consider perhaps what Ferguson has said recently. There's a thread called FERGIE PLANS TO BUY or something like that that has been wrongly moved to the transfer talk forum. Giggs might well be one of those players he may be hinting at. I agree he's hard to replace but I don't agree that the sort of money being talked about in this thread should be turned down. Ok, so hypothetical conversation that probably belongs in the transfer talk forum but still..........

it's 25m for giggs - that's a lot of money for a player his age. as long as fergie doesn't turn around and buy bati and thuram do it.

Hey who the muppet now eh!!
I forgot that certain people within this forum are small mided enough to think that if someones opinion doesnt match theres they get all upset...

Good thread this.

25m for Giggs? You should break their fecking arm off...

Hi, this is my first post. I usually just enjoy reading all your postings but I feel that I have to reply to this topic.

Ryan Giggs is my all-time favourite Man Utd player and I am trying my best to go to OT to watch him play before he retires. I, for one, will be extremely upset were he to play for another team, very much like how I feel when watching Schmeichel now.

Regardless of him not hitting form yet this season, I totally agree with what many people before me has proclaimed: Ryan Giggs is a joy to watch when he flies at defenders with the ball...

A big part of Man United will be lost to me shld he move.

A lot of people love Giggs,

Doesn't excuse the fact he ain't half the player he was...

I agree. Let's face it:

-we can't pretend to spend 20-30m at a time and never recoup any of that.

-players need to know they aren't untouchable (you can't keep bluffing about The Boot you have to show the balls to do it).

-he is getting on for a winger, sooner or later he will be gone anyway (should we wait until then to think who is going to replace him and then expect him to be an instant success?)

He is fantastic when switched on but you can't hang on to the same players all the way to retirement, it's not healthy.

ye maybe 25 million jus for his RIGHT LEG and then his left leg , they can pay us about 75 million maybe ?

It's a horrible thought to think of Ryan Giggs leaving. Not only is it an insult, but it sickens me to think that the $ men will have the last say. what ever happened to loyalty,.. all the loyalty that Giggsy and Ole and players like them,.. that say they would never play for another team., shouldn't we show them the same loyalty that they have showed us?

Ryan is irreplacable... he is the best winger in the world. I'm tired of people blaming games, and seasons on Giggsy. I will always be a Man Utd fan,.. as was my grandfather since '22. Please all of you, do not faulter in your belief in one of our sons. I plead to you,... wouldn't you prefer... one of our sons stay with the team until that final sunset...to be a part of history...than taint ourselves by giving into the all mighty $. I don't want to see anyone leave OT,... but don't you think.. a few others could go way before the likes of Becks,Butt,Paul,Gaz and of course Ryan??? We owe them alleast this.. especially when they are hitting their prime.

Antohan is talking sense. I've brought this subject up before, and it has nothing to do with his current performance. He will not be playing on that wing in 2 more years anyway, so what are we going to do with him then when his value has plummeted?

He's my favourite player too, but facts have to be faced. He will soon start to loose his pace.

i think it just goes to show that while we fans always scream at the players of not showing any loyalty to the club (e.g Schmeichel), we ourselves are not exactly showing a lot of loyalty to the players, judging from the number of people in this thread who agreed that giggs should be sold before his value dropped.

Personally, i would never wanted to see him go,and really hope he won't, but i guess i have to be realistic, players with a one-club career nowadays are a rarity these days...

I would hate to see Giggsy leave. He's been a massive part of the team since 1990/91. But on the other hand we have to look to the future, £25million is a hell of a lot of money for a player of Ryan's age. I would have preferred this to come up after Richardson had had more games so we could see if he really had what it took.
Ryan's has been injury prone throughout his career, not serious injuries, but those really annoying one that last for 3 or 4 weeks and chances are that he will be more prone to them the older he gets.
With the transfer market the way it is and prices coming down, £25 million could bring in 3 or 4 top quality players.

How can you even think of selling ryan?
first, this man embodies this team achivements.
Second, if he goes, say goodbye to becks, scholes and our othr icons.

not for sale until he is 40, period.
