It has never been enforced in Qatar. I have been to Doha many times and never have they ever asked for a marriage certificate. Never.
As for alcohol you go to the bar in your hotel and you can drink. They never asked for your passport or any identification.
It's a good idea to ban drunken louts on the streets.
The previous WC qualification match against Maldives they needed a friendly referee and 10 extra minutes for them to win the game.

What qualification? They qualified as hosts. They didn’t have Maldives in their Asian Cup qualifying group so not sure which game you’re referring to. They’re also the champions of Asia and got to the semis of the Gold Cup so it’s a bit weird people are shitting on them about a meaningless friendly and an imaginary game.
I understand people hate them but let’s not turn it into a free for all hate-fest with any old shite thrown in.

2018 world cup winners, are 90% immigrants (either born outside France or from parents recently immigrated to France). Qatar offering them nationality is not strange because it is a small nation and hard to have the numbers to maintain a high standard league and national football team.
They have immigrant players playing for them, but many coming from the aspire academy (were raised in Qatar) and they consider themselves as national, (just as Umtiti and his teammates consider their selves nationals).
No, there's a difference. Qatar does not offer nationality to expats regardless of how many years they work/live in the country.
Umtiti would be a French national even if he was not a professional footballer. That's not the case with the players playing for Qatar.

I don't think it needs to be that radical. Every country has problems so no matter who hosts there is going to be an issue with something but the issues in Qatar are a huge issue because of the simple parts of life that are banned.
And they can't tell right from wrong but have to get their morality from medieval scripture from Arabia mainly rehashing bronze age ethics.

Yes you can get citizenship if you lived and worked in Qatar for 25 years. But they have a fast track for elite skilled workers (not only footballers).
