2021 Summer Olympics (Tokyo)

Thankfully no Golden slam for the anti-vaxxer

Crazy to think that both Federer and Djokovic won't have a single Gold medal in their career.

Great match by Zverev, maybe he'll finally get some German questions in the press conference

Fed won Doubles Gold tbf.

Djokovic might win Mixed Doubles Gold this Olympics.

Djokovic could well compete again in 3 years, unless he's signalled otherwise

Great comeback from Zverev. Went up another gear after smashing his racquet. People will still shit on the next Gen players though.

He's not winning Gold aged 37 on clay.

Tough loss today, up a set and a break, almost finished Zverev off.

It does look like the gruelling conditions took their toll after an hour out there.

Love the excitement on the face of Ellen Whyte when she scores, one hell of a striker…

Nothing to see here once more at the Chemist Games…

You think they are suddenly all doping in the latter stages of their careers?

It's the new Nike ZoomX Dragonfly spikes which are making all the difference in the world - basically the equivalent of the LZR Racer Speedo swimming suits in Beijing 2008 which are now forbidden because they gave too much of an advantage. Same for the new spikes, the difference is apparently mind blowing.

Combine that with an extra year of training due to covid, the warm weather / hot air in Tokyo and not a lot of wind, and you get top times.

Team GB give away a goal in the dying minutes some match this, women’s football..

10k coming up. Really looking forward to Cheptegei. Ran a 26’11” in October last year :wenger:

This Aussie keeper has been a hero in extra time, wouldn’t fancy penalties..

Pleased for the Canadian ladies team, they seemed properly amazed to have beaten Brazil.

And....that's Team GB done for.

Very poor penalty by GB, and now punished by a wicked deflection. 2-3.

Team GB could literally push 20 yards up the pitch here and just have a sweeper keeper. Why are they punting it from 40 yards?

I've just heard GB only conceded two in the whole tournament before today. The defence looked very poor when their opponents shifted it wide; no closing down the delivery and not enough aggression in the middle. For the Aussies' second goal (?) the striker was given a ridiculous amount of time to control the ball and finish.

All in all a great effort but between some bad play at the back and the missed penalty there's a great deal to rue from this defeat.

The pen GB got looked incredibly soft, only one angle on the replays that I saw so maybe there is another one which clarifies it.

GB played some really good football at times, better team in general play but gave away horrible goals.

Last K pace is just absolutely nuts. Humans are amazing.

Distance running is actually the one pure athletic talent humans have among mammals. Many other mammals are quicker, way more powerful (without even having to train for it) but over distance humans have a real biological advantage.

Not sure about that. I'm not expecting a tiger to jog for 8800m and sprint in the last 1200m to hunt :wenger:
