Yes, but he didn't choose a version of Sarah Paulin who lost by 20 points for Alaska's secretary of state.
That feels somewhat dwarfed by the fact he himself, the president, the guy who won at the top of the ticket, is far stupider and less experienced than Sarah Palin or anyone else you could name.

Gabbard at least has some experience and killed Kamala's hopes, but her vote in the Trump's impeachment and her becoming a regular in Fox has killed any chance of that happening IMO.

Agreed. Let's hope it doesn't come down to her.

And yet he didn't go with some weird choice, instead went with a solid through non-inspiring choice. I mean seriously, he didn't choose Bannan as VP, which would be somewhat comparable with Sanders choosing Turner.

Let's see, but I don't expect it to happen. Bernie ain't stupid, and now that he is getting close, he needs to play his cards right. It is gonna be a very difficult fight against Trump even with the full party's backing. Do weird choices, and we get Trump winning easily.

Serious question, if we get there, do you think Bernie is best served by choosing someone to fire up the base or choosing someone to reassure rich whites?

Cause I really don't worry about freaking out rich whites. We know they're gonna kick up a fuss and ultimately vote Trump regardless of how much they are catered to.

I don't see what adding Turner in the ticket is gonna achieve. And I think that in order to win the election, he needs both to fire up the base but also appeal to moderates and even independents.

It’s not the rich whites you have to worry about, it’s the suburban upper/middle class white women who turned out in 2018 because they are repulsed by his bombastic vulgarity. They are the quintessential ‘why can’t everyone just be nice and get along’ voting group, so a fiery black woman like Turner is a sure turn off.

But the wine moms love black women when they're using gifs of them on twitter...

When MSNBC is laughing at your ability to attract black voters.......you're done son. Pete got TWO PERCENT of the Black vote in NV.

MSNBC trying to report positive Sanders news, but you hate it so much that you have to sigh on live TV before saying the point.:wenger:

This is fairly interesting.

It’s only one precinct, though, and we’d have to wait to get the full breakdown of early votes vs day of caucus, but if it’s true on a large scale that means the last debate did move voters, but Warren hurts Sanders far less than she does the moderate pack.

In that scenario, it’s not terrible if she hangs around to Super Tuesday and beyond, even if it seems counter-intuitive. A three way race with Sanders getting the lion’s share of votes while Biden can’t consolidate to keep within touching distance. In any case, Sanders is still on track to win about half of the delegates on ST regardless of what the field does, and I’d imagine Dem voters by that point much like GOPers in 2016 will flock to him to end the primary race in anticipation of the general.

The thing that actually scares me more than anything with all this vicious media coverage is something violent happening. There are a lot of idiots out there who watch these media channels religiously and have easy access to firearms. There is a big audience that actually believes in the type of rhetoric perpetuated by people like Chris Matthews, James Carville about Russia, communism and the cold war.
Man ain’t no liberals gonna shoot up places. Libs ain’t called pussies for no reason.

I don't think there are that many black people in NV. I don't see why this is important.

If you were pete, wouldn't you like to see inroads with the demographic that is seen as your biggest weakness? The critique of Pete was that he could only appeal to rich, old white voters. The NV demographics have nothing good for Pete to build off, especially with SC coming up!

I don't think it's important. Black voters in NV are different from black voters in SC. Let's see how he does with them.

Bernie’s Latino numbers look really good in Nevada. Might bode well for the votes in CA & TX with all their delegates.
Of course the MSM will look for positives for the other candidates but tbh there are not too many.

I know it’s unwise to take Trump at face value since he talks so much shit but I genuinely believe he does prefer to run against Bloomberg over Bernie.

It was fairly pertinent because Buttigieg had just been onstage boasting about how Nevada had proved beyond doubt the intergenerational, multicultural nature of his support and how this was "their night". MSNBC then wheeled out a bunch of pie charts showing the dearth of support he actually had in Nevada among the young, latinos and African Americans. It was pretty funny.
