I thought it was close a month ago but not much debate now. This is the best he has been.
To be fair it was only recently I started to think he'd topped 19/20 but yeah, 0 debate now.

I’d compare 1st year Madrid Ronaldo to him if he finishes the season like this.
To be fair he won’t. It’s almost impossible for mere mortals

He might even get a couple of minutes for England if he continues his current form.

I still think his all-round performances were better in 19/20, but he certainly seems to have become more clinical recently. Hopefully it can long continue.

As he should be because that's what we need him to be. We've got a well functioning team around him. We need him more to score goals rather than contribute in other ways. He's gone back to being as clinical as he was in his breakout season. Long may it continue.

He was on form imo at the world cup, and if he'd been trusted more by Southgate who knows.

He's confident you can see it defenders are shit scared of him, you saw it at Barca away they were crapping themselves when he picked up the ball in final 3rd. He's scoring the half chances now as well.

Now, this is a matured version of Rashford. The calm is there to see.

Good thread, but hard to compare the two.

He was a lot more lithe and agile back then - before the back break - and played with unpredictable abandon. He had link up play, but only with Martial. He ran blind alleys and didn't have the best decision making, or better to say everything was more self-absorbed - if his plays worked out, they looked fantastic, but when they didn't, his choice of action could fairly be questioned as there'd mostly be a 'better' option he could have selected. At the clip he was scoring and affecting games, it didn't matter much because it looked like he was on a trajectory towards superstardom, regardless.

The current version is more efficient, more considered, stronger and a whole lot more spatially aware. He's benefiting from being coached and it shows in his actions going from play to play, for the most part. This more mature Rashford is on the verge if transitioning, too. A pseudo striker/wide forward mirroring Henry looks very much on the cards if the current trajectory continues unabated.

I think, for dependability's sake, you'd have to take the current version because he's reliable and more ready to lead an entire attacking line, if not with goals, then knowing how to affect the game to the benefit of others.

The spatial awareness you mention is such a good point. We don't see anymore the Rashford who used to run out of play with the ball

He's actually looking around before he receives the ball these days and moving in accordance with where he can best exploit space - it's night and day from the head down, younger version for sure.

He's really making excellent strides from the player he was to the player he is now.

The current version has the tools to turn into our consistent 9. At the very least, him excelling at 2 positions is a blessing.

Its not even a contest, this season by far.

Rashford's best form prior to this wasn't even 2019/20. His form under Ole's caretaker role purple patch was peak Rashford until now. He was devastating then mixing good all round play with goalscoring.

This version is just so well rounded now.

Yeah, absolutely. Best of all is he’s growing and improving as the season goes by - will be interesting to see how he looks by May at his current rate of growth.

Pointless bump.
