2018 PGA and Golf in General

I am fine with Tiger doing well and competing. Its the ridiculous media attention that is annoying.

Agree. Can't remember where but I read that him winning a major again would be the greatest come back in sports history. COME ON. It wouldn't even be the greatest in golf history. Ben Hogan springs to mind

This is some victory. An 8-under final round without a single dropped shot. I said earlier that Tiger is back but then so is Rory, in spectacular fashion. If he can take this form to the Masters, that career grand slam looks a little closer.

If he takes today's form to the Masters he will win it easily. The media has been building Tiger up but if Rory gets his form back Tiger can't match him.

Literally came in to say if Rory can keep putting like that he'll be tough to stop at Augusta but the last two posts have beaten me to it!

He can hit it high, long and shape it either way. It's always been his putting that's held him back from a Masters.

Well... that and an epic Sunday meltdown that one time!

Can't wait for the Masters! Genuinely seems very open this year, Tiger back, Rory playing well, Thomas, Spieth, Johnson so many options.

My bets atm are Thomas e/w and Matsuyama e/w. Bet365 paying out 8 places but a few are paying 10 place 1/5 odds. Anyone got any bets on?

Don't forget Bubba. Two-times Masters winner and he's got two PGA wins under his belt already this season. He's unpredictable but the form he showed at the Match Play championship was incredible. I'm still going for McIlroy though, if he can replicate his form from the Arnold Palmer Invitational he'd be unstoppable.

I can't really see past the usual suspects this year however my money is on Casey ( backed him for years so can't change really ) and Tyrrell Hatten with an e/w on young Fitzpatrick.

Yes like his chances, so many good options out there. Would love to see Kuchar win, finally.

No mention of Poulter’s win at the weekend??? Those last 3 rounds were the best golf I’ve seen him play and that put to force the play off was incredible. Never thought I’d see Poulter win a stroke play event in the US.
The Masters looks fascinating this year. So many contenders and sub plots, not the least Tiger. There’s also a handful of Europeans in with a realistic chance. Justin Thomas is probably the most consistent player at the moment, but his driving is iffy if you ask me and a solid drive is essential at Augusta because you can throw it all away in just one hole. But if Thomas drives well and avoids any calamities I think he might be the favorite.

I need to narrow it down, 2 outsiders I'm backing are sorted, Xander and Charley Hoffman, no idea who my main pick will be yet.

Heart says Rory or Matsuyama. Head probably says Bubba or JT. Spieth showed form last weekend too, and is always up there in the Masters. Going to be an epic sport weekend. Saturday has the two most exciting PL derbies during the day and Masters during the evening (CET).

Would love to see McIlroy get over the line.

Can't wait for this, best sport f weekend of the year. Game of golf Sunday morning too if the weather behaves, roll on 7pm and get this started.

It was great to watch the Tom Watson - Jack Nicklaus - Gary Player group at the par 3 contest yesterday. I can't believe the shots they hit at their ages. I mean, Gary Player is fecking 82 and he made -2. I know it's all a bit of fun but that must've been an inspirational round of golf for all those young players watching on the sidelines.

KEN ON THE COURSE

KEN ON THE COURSE

KEN ON THE COURSE

GWAN KEN TELL ME ABOUT THE AZALEAS YOU GLORIOUS BASTARD

god I love him

God I cannot wait for the Masters to start now :drool:

Think I've backed half the field but big shouts are Rory, Rose, Matsuyama, Kuchar, Fleetwood, Tiger and Kaymer for the top 5 (just cause he is a player I love to watch). Reckon Speith or Thomas are great shouts for winning overall but not much value in backing them I think.

Can't wait to play 5 a side later, get it out the way and settle down for 4 of the greatest days in Golf :D along with the Open and the Ryder Cup of course.

Me too, I'd love to see Rory do the Slam and I'm hoping for a round myself on Sunday before the final round.

I absolutely love the Masters, I just wish the coverage wasn't so shit.

Augusta really are a pretentious bunch of tossers, limiting what can be shown. Get ready for endless views of flowers or water features whilst golf is being played that they're not allowed to broadcast.

I put a couple quid on Tony Finau. An hour later he goes and dislocates his ankle celebrating the fecking par 3 contest

Is that a sign of how my bets are going to go this weekend?

Indeed. There are some cracking holes on the front nine - namely the par five 2nd. You see the cnut a couple of times on Sunday evening.

It's my favourite major, but the coverage is woeful. But at least we'll get to listen to Paul McGinley and Colin Montgomerie witter on about the Ryder Cup.

Plus I like the way Butch Harmon makes watching television a personal experience through his staring into the camera approach.

You are all lucky to live in places where golf can be played throughout the season. I am in the eastern parts of Norway, and the courses here are still weeks from opening.

Actually off work today so looking forward to the action, fancy Pieters this week quite a bit so I backed him each-way.

Also have Reed first round leader too so I hope he has a good score :)

Going to be a fascinating week with so many top players in form

so annoying we have to wait until 7pm UK to watch it live

is there actually anywhere to watch it before then?

Sergio is already done for the week, absolutely brutal stuff. He'll be 10 over on this hole or something.
