So what a season we are witnessing.
Can't say I'm impressed by any of the top teams - they don't stack up to previous Premiers, nor probably even the runner-ups (having said that WCE in 2015 were pretty average). But this is making for a truly crazy season with upsets every week and so many close games.
I heard about a month ago there were already more games decided by under a goal than any other season in recorded history, and there is still a handful of games left.
I had my hard-earned on GWS up until a week ago, but the injury issues are really mounting up. I still think that at their best, with a full list, they will be impossible to beat. But they aren't playing like a cohesive experienced unit. Sydney however, are.
I don't really rate Geelong as they are essentially a dynamic duo (and what a duo) with players around them.
Adelaide are hard to peg. Their midfield is poor by contender's standards; Sloane is a champion, however the Crouch brothers are good accumulators but they lack the level of class to elevate that midfield group. Sloane has been taken out by tags too which isn't a good sign, however their forward line and defense are elite.
Port are pretenders.
Richmond, well who knows what will happen there. Dusty is the king of course, but they are in uncharted territory and I can see lots of tears on the horizon in finals.
As for my boys the Hawks - great turn-around so far. The players were dirty after the Mitchell, and in particular the Lewis trades. However they've gotten over this and are playing much better. It's a shame they didn't pull their finger out earlier in the season otherwise we would be sitting around 6th IMO.
On a side note - Danger's best (last year and this season) is equal to that of GAJ, who I think is in the GOAT discussion. Danger is a superior player to Fyfe. He's such an unstoppable beast.
